Read more link goes to wrong category was created by Geoffrey Mack
When I click "read more" links they take me to the right item in the wrong category.
Anybody have any suggestions?
More detail: I have a category called "news & press" with several items in it. When I go to the category view for News & Press it shows all my items, with their intro text and their read more links. Clicking any read more link takes me to the right article, but on the "home" tab.
Weird, right?

If it helps, here is the site and category I was talking about:
dev1.gystsites.com/index.php?option=com_k2&view=itemlist&layout=category&task=category&id=18&Itemid=180
Click one of those read more links and you'll end up on the home page.

Hi Geoff,
Could you check your menu item with the id 184, it seems to be a link to the K2 category 'News & press'.
Sincerely,
Olivier

Oh, I see where you are going. Yes, that's it. My home page is id 184 and it contains news and press articles on it, plus a bunch of other stuff. So now that I understand the problem, how do I solve it?
I want my home page to have news articles on it, and when you click them you go to the News & Press section.

I keep getting stuck. So many roadbloacks!
I would like to have news & press items show up on my home page. I see two ways to do that, but both are unworkable:
1) have my home menu point to News & Press. Doesn't work because all my news and press items will click through to the home page.
2) Have my home menu point to Latest Items in new & press. Doesn't work because there is no way for it to inherit the styling from one of my categories.
I must be missing something. This seems way too hard.

Geoff,
For your home page, you could select the 'News & press' category + another one (just create it if needed and don't put any items in it). This will give you the possibility to configure your home page layout as you want.
By doing this, the item link should point to your 'News & press' item menu.

Yes! That worked. Thanks Olivier!
By the way, that sure is a convoluted way to get the home page to work like a home page. Perhaps this can be addressed in a future update.
