Hi all,Im new to this forum, so please forgive me if im asking stupid questions, my site is www.pafo.co.uk which was built by a superb guy called Matt Lipscomb. but because he built it I am not 100% up to speed with K2. My question is this:without giving access to the backend of the site to members, I would like to nominate certain members the ability to login (front end) and create an article, post and enable it without interaction from myself.and also if possible i would ideally like to be able to nominate certain people the ability to author for other categories, whilst only letting them have access to the categories I specify. Is this possible, I tried searching but maybe was not using the right keywords as i was getting nowhere.your help would be appreciated

Hi Steve,
You can do that by creating different a K2 user group on the K2 backend and assign the selected users to one group.
If you want a user to add/edit and publish an item in frontend, his user group must have at least these permissions :
- Front-end item editing
- Add items
- Edit own items
- Publish items
I'll publish a tutorial on my website in the week about K2 ACLs

Excellent screencast, one other problem though, i set username shrek, password idletime to world news author, as per your screencast instructions.
However once logged in there is no link anywhere to create/add item.
any ideas please
thanks

Steve,
When you're logged in, there's the 'add new item in this category' here :
www.pafo.co.uk/magazine/education/paramedic-training.html
I think the K2 login module has been modified and may not display the link.
Make sure you've set all the needed categories for the user groups.
