Preset values of radio buttons and dropdowns was created by Daniel Würstl
Hi Simon and Co.
I did search the forum but not find an answer to an obvious question: how can I preset the values of radio select und dropdown select fields. The extra fields manager does not seem to be able to support those.
I have to set values, because - after turning off those modal links to plain links - due to some totally strange reason the articles can be saved, if extra-field values are set, but CANNOT be saved, if the values are not set. I also did chance the save button to directly save the form and cut out the IE button registration which did not function very well.
PLEASE give me some help. I spent 200+ hours for using this component for a very complex project and it would be complete desaster if I cannot find a solution to those two problems.
Thanks in advance
Daniel
P.S: if you are interested in an extreme form of K2 search modification look here:

Playing with a test site, it appears that the radio buttons will not have any value unless one is selected
the drop down list will take the first value and save it if nothing is selected
Changing the way this works would require changing core files
Can you do away with the radio buttons and use lists only?
Have you looked at sherpa from jiliko.net?

Hi Wil,
Thanks for your hints.
Changing radio buttons to lists is a troublesome option because there are many of them...
will check out jiliko.net!
