K2 2.5 beta Install Error Joomla 1.7 was created by Tom Morgan
Installing K2_SVN to Joomla 1.7 & keep getting the error "Error building admin menus" - the component shows as installed but doesn't display under Components.  Am I missing something?

Hello also from SC - I'm on a live server as well - on a godaddy shared hosting.  The install is 100% with exception to the admin components menu item.William White said:

IM not sure , i just remember discussions of php versions when 1.6/7 joomla came out

my server is running php 5.3.2-1ubuntu4.9 and i didnt have the error you refer to

What finally worked for me - local at least - was to be sure my php version was at least 5.3 - even if you get it installed, don't expect it to be a "finished " product - it's a long way off

Im running Joomla 1.7 with K2 v2.5 (SVN) with PHP 5.34 using WAMP, so far no issues installing K2.
