I am using k2 2.5 rc. I tried to paste addthis code in global parameter of k2.  When ever i paste the code and save it. The code is washed out from the field.  I tried the same in 2.4 version it works fine..Can any one help on it...

have you tried disabling first the wysiwyg editor before pasting the addthis code?

2.5rc is for joomla 1.7

Here's what you can do...

Open up administrator/components/com_k2/config.xml

Look for line 618 under the Social Settings

 

Edit this line from this :

<field menu="hide" name="socialButtonCode" type="textarea" default="" label="K2_SOCIAL_BUTTON_CODE" description="K2_PASTE_HTML_CODE_HERE_TO_INTEGRATE_SERVICES_LIKE_ADD_THIS_OR_SHARE_THIS_IN_THE_ITEM_PAGE" rows="8" cols="40" />

 

To this :

<field menu="hide" name="socialButtonCode" type="textarea" default="" label="K2_SOCIAL_BUTTON_CODE" description="K2_PASTE_HTML_CODE_HERE_TO_INTEGRATE_SERVICES_LIKE_ADD_THIS_OR_SHARE_THIS_IN_THE_ITEM_PAGE" rows="8" cols="40" filter="raw" />

 

Just add the filter="raw" at the end before the /> brackets.
