I am posting this as a new thread. I am running Joomla 2.5.7.

I just upgraded to the latest version of K2 and have lost my K2 comments and the K2 comments form fields. I decided to reinstall the previous version of K2 (K2_v2.5.7) but this has not helped - still same problem. Yes very stupidly I did not do a backup just before I installed this update.

I have a French website which is a mirror copy of this site (I did not install latest K2 release on the French website and everything works fine). What specific K2 files can I copy from my French website across to my .co.uk website to resolve the issue?

Quick assistance would be greatly appreciated so I can sort this issue asap.

What do you mean that you lost your comments? Can you access the administration page of comments? Are there any comments there? Be more specific so we can help you.

OK.... I have a page on my website where the K2 comments are listed one after another and at the bottom of this page there is a comment form where users can leave their comments.

This whole page is now blank - no comments and no comment form.

I have reinstalled the following folders from prior to updating to the latest K2, but this problem is still there. Maybe the issue is in my database?

components/k2_com
administrator/components/k2_com

Thoughts appreciated please.

Are you using K2 comments or an other plugin?

Should I try and reinstall an earlier version of my database? I have already reinstalled an earlier version of the following folders:

components/k2_com
administrator/components/k2_com

Are there any other K2 files that are not included in the above folders, which would restore my K2 comments and comment form? The K2 comments still exist in the backend of Joomla, but they have disappeared from the page on my site where I displayed them all (along with the 'Leave a comment' form).

RESOLVED

I had to get my hosting company to send me a previous version of my database. I lost 2 full day's work as a result of the bug in this K2 release, which I blame myself for. YOU MUST BACKUP BEFORE MOVING ACROSS TO ANY NEW UPDATE!!! I have learnt my lesson.

K2 does not remove any database fields or data unless it is uninstalled.
