unpublish k2 itemlist/user default pages was created by sandra
Hi
i upload a new site using K2 and noticed that google indexed pages i didnt know they exist!
the pages are for example : www.example.com/category/itemlist/user/userName
the page includes the administrator/author details and all the items he created in agrigator.
i don't want that those pages will be published or indexed by google!
please tell me how i can unpublish those default pages
are there more default pages K2 is generating and publishing by default i should know about?
thank you
Sandra

Hi. Google indexes all the links it founds on the page. So you need to remove all the author links from your site or add the 'rel="nofollow"' property to them.

Go to K2 category settings and set them to "Hide". Do the same for all K2 modules. You also need to browse your site and see any other possible modules that are printing those links.

Hi,
Sorry to resurrect this topic but I actually have a related question.
Is it possible to completely prevent a user page being generated for certain users, or at least to make certain user pages inaccesible to the public?
The reason is I want people to be able to sign up to my website without having their details made public!!!

Hi,
I have the same problem. One of our registered users have looked for his name in google and found a link to our website with a link format described by Sandra.
And this user is not an author, nor admin, just a user. So we cannot make "hide" him in K2 category settings.
I've tried some more username and got the same results. With admins/authors the K2 items related to these users are lited. In the case of "normal" (i.e. registered) users, only their full name and e-mail address displayed.
For us it is a personal data security issue and we can be fined by local authority for it.
Any suggestion to hide?
Zoltan

Hello Zoltan,
Make sure you are not showing any other information by rechecking K2's params. There are settings to hide the emails and personal info.
Make sure your sitemap does not include these links as well.
If you have menu items for your admins/authors I suggest you use a no-index, no-follow rule in your robots.txt

Thx Krikor,
I try systematicalyy check every and each settings now.
It seems, Google already indexed at least two admins and several users page. and shows the link in the search results as..../itemlist/users/{userid#}-{username}
Is it not possible to avoid showing the userdata when this URL link is entered in the browser?

Yes,
Go to K2's params=> Layout & views => Layout & view options for user (author) pages and set email to hide.
