I had a problem in my site that I used k2 in. it was a site built with Joomla! 1.5.
I thought it will be better to move to Joomla! 2.5 and it may solve my problem.

So, I built a new site with Joomla! 2.5.8, and Yoo Spark template (from yootheme.com), then I moved k2 items to the new site using this method:

but the problem still exist !!

I can not add or edit k2 items, once I select a category and write some text, I can not hit (Save) button.

Please try to add an item here:

It's a big issue, I did not add any item for a long time :S

your login shows a relatively blank screen with one word at the top left.
the demo user doesnt have access to your back end administrator
I would first disable the k2 login module (if thats what your using) and enable the k2 user module to see if that helps.
please include your j and k2 version numbers

You should unpublish the joomla login module, and publish the k2_user module to a position that is valid for your template

I published the k2 user module as you said, please try to add an item now, you will see a strange thing:
When I hit (Save) button, the browser ask me if I want to exit the page !!

It's really a strange problem, because I was using the site very well, but suddenly I became unable to add items :(

I am experiencing this same error in a newly migrated Joomla 2.5.8 site with K2 2.6.2 in a Graffito theme. Does anyone have any ideas on how to solve? This happens for us in both front end from the Add Item link but also in back end editing. We are using the K2 User login module.

Just reinstalling k2 again did the trick for me.

ReferenceError: validateExtraFields is not defined

I'm working on Joomla 2.5.13 with K2 2.6.7.
