Joomla 2.5 won't display K2 items: 404 errors was created by Jon Billsberry
Hi there, wondered if someone can help me.
I've recently set up two Joomla/K2 sites and I'm attempting to do exactly the same thing again. All the installations seem to have worked and I've drafted some simple items in K2 and tried to make the top menu read them. All straightforward and normal. I go to the top menu and for each bit of the menu ask it to attach a K2 item, which it finds and attaches. But when I view the site I get a 404 error message for every menu command pointing to a K2 item.
I have turned everything on in the items and the categories, made sure I haven't only asked it to show featured items, made sure everything is published, turned all time zones to default... they should work... but they don't.
I've tried copying the content of the K2 items into Joomla articles and attached those instead, and that works fine, but clearly that's not the solution I want.
Anyone got any ideas? I would rather not have to reinstall everything.
Thanks for your help,
Jon

test to find out whats wrong.
create new category
create new item in category
create new menu link pointing to k2item and select that item
it should display
if it doesnt i would switch to default joomla template and see if it works

Thanks William,
The new item in the new category worked.
So I'll delete the old category and hopefully everything should be fine.
Thanks for your speedy and helpful response. Much appreciated.
All the best,
Jon

Hi all,
Thanks for the solution. I faced the same problem and now I got it cleared. Does any one know the reason why k2 items throw 404 error?
