So I copied k2.css to /tenplates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/css/k2.css and made some changes but they do not get reflected on my site. Only if I edit the core k2.css file are they reflected. But every time K2 is updated the core k2.css file gets replaced.

I thought by making a copy to /tenplates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/css/k2.css I could edit k2.css.

Where am I going wrong?

If you want to modify the Css k2 Core.. you can use the Css4k2 .
