Hy,

make a Menu (e.g. Mainmenu), inside an Menu with Typ e.g. "k2 - Categories". Map the Category(s) as you need. Make same with other Categorys and also Tags, Users, ... what you prefer.

Sorry,
php is for something else.
what admin told me about duplicate content is:

For managing duplicate content you either need to map all you content in menus and use K2's advanced SEF, or if you need more options and control over your URLs you should use an SEO/SEF extension like sh404.

Thats what I asked You,if You know how to use K2's advanced SEF with mapping of content in menus.

Hy,

with "map the category" i mean: Open a Menuentry, you select e.g. "Typ = K2 / Category", on right side "Required Options" choose one or more Categories. So you have mapped your Category(s) to a Menu.

My Language is set to German, so maybe descrptions of Names not exactly like yours.

Do You know what to do in K2's advanced SEF (as K2 admin told me) so it helps with duplicate content?

Hy,

my solution: I map every category to ist own menu > no duplicate url. But tags, profiles i use no menus, cause ist importent for users to stay in navigation; my point of view. so i live with duplicated url, check google webmaster for 404-crawls, ...

impotent is a readable url. here my settings: getk2.org/community/New-to-K2-Ask-here-first/178100-url-rewriting-K2-266#178154

If I map every category to its own menu, like this:

Menu1 > Category1 > Article1
Menu2 > Category2 > Article2
...................................................
Menu(x) > Category(x) > Article(x)

i belive there will be no duplicate content becouse there is no menu maped with 2 or more categories.

But if You have time to look at this page
www.vienna-airport-cab.at/index.php/de/blog

That is like "main page" of blog or how to call it.
I mapped all categories ( at the moment I only have 2 but I will map all categories that I create in the future )

So problem is becouse article (item) is showed in its category but also on this "main page".

I hope You can understand me,sorry if I confused You.

Ok.
So problem is becouse You can see article Bezahlung der Taxifahrt
here
www.vienna-airport-cab.at/index.php/de/blog/2-taxifahrt/bezahlung-der-taxifahrt
and here also
www.vienna-airport-cab.at/index.php/de/blog
becouse I mapped menu item Blog to show all categories.

So that is duplicate content.

Yes.
First is address of article Bezahlung der Taxifahrt

And second is menu item K2 with all categories called Blog.
You can see that in my main menu.

So its same article on two pages.
I belive that is duplicate content or mybe im wrong?

Hy,

i understand "duplicate content" as
/url/category/3210-nameofarticle
/url/anothercategory/3210-nameofarticle
...
means: same article in different urls.

so i have every article in one category, but sometimes in different tags - so have duplicate content. i thinks its important for users to stay as much as possible in their navigation. is not every time possible.

I found this definition of duplicate content on Google support website, becouse I was not shure.

"Duplicate content generally refers to substantive blocks of content within or across domains that either completely match other content or are appreciably similar."

So to make it short: duplicate content is similar content on more pages.
Or as You said:

i understand "duplicate content" as
/url/category/3210-nameofarticle
/url/anothercategory/3210-nameofarticle

What do You think is it possible to map menu with more categories and dont get duplicate content.

Hy,

first i was not amused bout k2 using only 1 category each article. Thinking bout Menus having more Categorys, but a klick bring you to 1menu-1catgory solves problem duplicated content.

As said, on tags, profiles i set other preferences. google give tips, no orders. at least its all about "what needs users".

ok.
Thanks a lot.
Im trying to solve duplicate content this way and still map menu with more categories.

I will make introtext in category view short, like 40 words and I belive then google wont see my menu wich is mapped with more categories as duplicate content.

First I have to try to find out how to make intro text shorter on menu where I mapped more then one category.

For menu mapped with single category is easy, just set number of words in specific category's options.

I started post on this subject but got in "fight" with one of admins.
This is the last he told me getk2.org/community/New-to-K2-Ask-here-first/178192-Duplicate-content#178378
But before that last answer he told me to do something else so now Im stuck.
When I find answer I will be glad to share it with You and all other users.
