I am trying to get the galleries showing in the category listings view. I have the gallery showing, but it just comes up as the code ( {gallery}2{/gallery} ). Is there a way to make the SIG Pro plugin parse this in this view?

Have you enabled K2 Plugins and Joomla! plugins parsing in itemlist views?
This setting is located in the category settings

Got it. I needed to enable image gallery in cat item listing view as well as item view because I had copied code from item.php to category_item.php.
