dates not working - multiple issues

1) When posting an article - the date stamp automatically populates a different time that current time. (yes I've set time/date and timezone in joomla)
2) When trying to change the date in either start or created - it changes the date to a random time once save is clicked
3) items that are marked with future dates/times are still published as soon as article is saved.
I have tested to see if this issue happens when adding standard joomla articles and it does not. Dates are posted accurately, saved and wont publish until date/time is here.
I do not know where to start to address this issue. Please help.

in addition to the issues listed above - I have figured out that every time I save an article - the time advances 7 hours. For example, Article ABC is entered at 1:30pm - click SAVE - time is now 8:30pm - click save again and now it's 3:30am the following day.
none of the time stamps are working as regardless of date, article still posts as active article.

When I login to the admin area - I have the correct timezone configured for the server/etc
When i post information in the joomla article section the time stamp is accurate, nothing changes when i click save, etc
when i post articles in the K2 system, the publish date is 7 hours ahead of my time, when i hit save or apply, the time zone pumps forward 7 more hours - every time i hit save -
this has to be something with K2 and not joomla as the events, articles, etc all work fine - this issue is only with K2 items - makes zero sense and don't know what to do to fix
also, when i finally do save an article and mark it as published, even if the date set is for 3 days from now, it still shows on the front end - which it shouldn't.
please help! THIS IS A HUGE ISSUE!!

Do you have any third party extensions or plugins installed that might be responsible for this issue?

everything else everywhere works fine. dates have no problem. it is only in k2. so need to get this resolved. It is killing the client with having to post info the moment he wants it posted now instead of scheduling like he used to be able to.
please - any idea what to check??
willing to pay to help resolve.

Just tested it with Joomla! 2.5.17 and K2 v2.6.8 DEV build and it works fine.
Have you updated your dev build?

Which other extensions are you using? Any additional components? Other K2 extensions?

The development version you are using is probably older that the version which contained the fix. The fix is here github.com/joomlaworks/k2/commit/f12bf966cebcaf2239d32b1bac6fd6e2ff527ff8. You need to understand that the development version is changing almost daily. When we suggest to use the development version, it means that you have to download it again. Please download the development version from getk2.org/assets/get/ and update your installation. The date problem should be solved. If not please let me know so i test again.
