Trying out k2 for our towns new website and while testing the item comment section below the article I have found if a comment is posted it shows a "Comment Link" along with the actual comment.

If i click the "Comment Link" it just scrolls down the page a little where I can add a new comment. Is this the default action for the link? At first i thought it was so that someone could reply to a comment previously written but this doesn't seem to be the case.

So basicly I need to know what that link is for. Also if it has no other use than to scroll down to the add comment section can it be turned off so that it doesnt show in each posted comment?

The comment link it works as an anchor link to the specific comment so you can refer to it from somewhere else.

In order to hide it you can do it by css and add this in your template's css file

div.itemComments ul.itemCommentsList li span.commentLink {display:none;}

Thanks for letting me know what its there for.

I ended up using installing discus comments anyway.
