Reuse uploaded images was created by WinniePooh
Hello everyone,

I want to reuse the images which I've uploaded with K2. When I browse for an old image, I get only the images which have been uploaded with the normal joomla com_content (folder /images). I know K2 saves the images in the media folder with different sizes. How can I access these images?

Regards

Hi. You can set the media manager default folder to "media/k2/items" . This can be done in the media manager component options.

Thank you for your answer. Is there a way to access the normal /images folder with the /media/k2/items folder together? I've on both folders important images which I need to access.

Regards.

No. Media manager can only work with one root folder. You can set the folder to / but this will make all your site directory structure available to the media manager.

The images have file names like "002e8e491b09a55f1bac8b9f7f969c26.jpg". Is there a way to show the normal image name?

No, this is how K2 generates the file names. I don't get what you mean by saying "normal filenames" . You can always use the alt attribute to provide the image description.

With normal file names I mean the image name which I gave to the image. After uploading it, K2 generates then the image name and I cannot find it, when I'm searching for the image.

I would like to search after images names like "imagename.jpg" instead of "002e8e491b09a55f1bac8b9f7f969c26.jpg".

No, unfortunately as i already told you the file names are generated this way.

I tested this today, and it turns out that K2 regardless save the picture again for each new article where the photo are used, and although the picture already exists in media / k2 / items. So the solution is useless if the purpose of reuse of images is to save space on the server.
