K2 2.8.0
Custom template

When I submit the email link above a K2 item, the page goes to a 404 page can't be found.

It looks like your "component.php" sub-template inside your Joomla template is missing stuff or some optimization plugin is cutting off JS. To verify, simply rename component.php to component.php.bak and then copy component.php from /templates/system/ to /templates/YOUR_JOOMLA_TEMPLATE/. Try again to see if things work. You may need to adapt the layout a bit if it's working to match your current design.

Unfortunately, this did not work. There was no component.php in the custom template, but I uploaded the default anyway but the 404 still displays. Is there another way to troubleshoot?

This is mostly due to a missing "component.php" file from your template's folder.
