Hi Overthere,
while scanning my site with Akeeba AdminTools for php-changes, I noticed that there are three folders for elfinder under media/k2/assets/venors/studio-42

Are these necessary for some reason or some leftovers from previous updates? Which ones can be safely deleted in the latter case?

Delete them all and re-install K2. This is the only reliable solution. My guess is you initially did the upgrade on a Windows PC, right?

Yes, as administrator, but I wasn't the Dev. I think he may have developed on WAMP.
