Running K2 under PHP 8.02 throws the following error when trying to save an item:

No problem with 7.4, but I wonder if anyone else has had an issue.

In either a plugin or where you render the code (e.g. the template overrides). It depends on the use case.

In your case, I assume these are presentation methods only, so they could have been part of a template override for K2.

thanks for your quick reply. what are the ways to declare custom methods in the k2 components so conflicts can be avoided while upgrading in future without changing in the core files.

These functions are not part of K2's core code, e.g. github.com/getk2/k2/search?q=getImagesForGallery

Whoever built your site modified K2's core code, which is a big no-no... :)

Presently I have installed K2 v2.10.3 on Joomla[ver 3.9] and using php [PHP Version 5.6.40] on the website.

I am getting fatal error in K2 component after upgrading the website to Joomla ver 3.9.

Hi! I tried to update my site (joomla/k2) and got it on a new server with recent php versions. Now, I can see the homepage and item pages, but no so for "category" pages.

I get this error:
Fatal error: Cannot declare class K2ModelItemlist, because the name is already in use in /home/--site--/public_html/components/com_k2/models/itemlist.php on line 0

I don't know what exactly already has been using K2ModelItemList, I suppose some 3rd party K2 extension.

How do I know which extensions to disable to troubleshoot this? Or in other words, how do I quickly just see K2 extensions?

component.php is like index.php. The only difference is that this file is usually called in modals, the print dialog etc. Explore that file and adjust accordingly.

a) Override component.php and add it there. Simple.

b) The error occurs because of the change you do. Regardless of that, you're missing for not using K2 v2.10.3.

b) This fatal error is fixed in the new version of K2?

a) Don't do that. There's a reason it's loaded in the component.php sub-template.

b) You should upgrade to K2 v2.10.3 ASAP.

I have a fatal error "Call to undefined method K2ModelItem::getUserProfile()" when I click on the menu to form of K2 frontend. This error appeared after I changed the "component" to "index" in the file item.php to use the header from my template:

I noticed that this error disappears if I disable the "K2 User" module, which is in the header of the template. Can you help me to solve my problem?

I recently updated K2 from version 2.9 to version 2.10. I read in the documentation that this upgrade was safe for all template overrides, however, that does not seem to be the case for me.

After upgrading, I was hit with this error all over the site:
"Fatal error: Call to undefined method K2HelperUtilities::getFieldValue()"

I use this function to get extra fields from K2 items. Was this function changed in 2.10? Or is there another way to fix this?

after installing the new K2 2.10.2 version, even though on the admin side of Joomla I see the install was a success, we are not able to see our article in the front end. an error message is shown Fatal error: Can't use method return value in write context in /homepages/1/d341242702/htdocs/gouwuhawaii/components/com_k2/views/item/view.html.php on line 468 so now none of the articles are able to show up correctly...

I just upgraded our dev site to K2 2.10.0 and was really excited to see the new look of the back end item administration page.

But I cannot edit any K2 items. If I click on any of the item titles, where normally I would get the edit form, instead I get a KException Error | Fatal Error

Call to a member function isSite() on null.

The line complained about is:

.../administrator/templates/isis/html/com_k2/item/default.php:15

...which is: <?php if($this->mainframe->isSite()): ?>

I have tried clearing the cache, the expired cache, logging out and logging back in again. Before I start disassembling my site to see if there's an extension conflict, can anyone shed any light on what this error means?

I have the whole exception handling and error handling story if that would help.
