Blank page in backend after importing content

Category: English K2 Community

Hello,
I am trying to import my joomla content into k2 but I can't.
The result is a blank page (backend). I can only press the back button and I noticed that some articles have been imported but not all and not any of my categories.

I enabled system error report to maximum. Here are the errors. I hope that they say something to you.

Notice: Trying to get property of non-object in C:\wamp\www\site\administrator\components\com_k2\models\items.php on line 1210

Fatal error: Maximum function nesting level of '100' reached, aborting! in C:\wamp\www\site\libraries\joomla\date\date.php on line 104

Can you help please to solve this issue?
Thank you and sorry for my poor english.

EDIT: I am testing my site at my pc using wamp. (windows 8.1 x64)

No, I mean the physical file. error_log.
Apache's (or your user's) logs.

If you cannot locate it, then your hoster can help you.
Once you have opened it, disregard any notices or warnings and look for Fatal Errors.

K2 blank admin menus on back end [RESOLVED]

Category: English K2 Community

I just upgraded our site with clean install of Joomla 3.3, and added the latest version of K2 and when I am on the back end, the drop down K2 menus come up blank. With error reporting on I get this error code.

Warning: require(/services/webpages/k/n/mysite.com/public/new/administrator/modules/mod_submenu/tmpl/default.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /services/webpages/k/n/mysite.com/public/new/administrator/modules/mod_submenu/mod_submenu.php on line 23

I uninstalled and reinstalled, I then installed over the k2 component without uninstalling andgot the same results? Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Blank screen thrown in backend

Category: English K2 Community

hello Krikor,

Yes, they are warnings and they have nothing to do with the issue.

There are no Fatal Errors recorded whatsoever.

I understand that the issue might be unrelated to K2 but what puzzles me is that:

I do a fresh install from a backup. Everything works, Global Configuration is accepting changes etc.
I am making changes to other modules, not problem.
I am trying to make changes to K2 User module. Problem arises. And after that, Global Configuration and other modules are affected too. Like something is triggered by the K2 User module and gets corrupted for the rest of the installation.

I have tried to repair the database via Joomla's function and also tried Repair and Optimize tables by Admin Tools. No cigar! :(

These are warnings not actual errors.
They will not cause error or alter your site's functionality.

Is there a Fatal Error recorded?

Also since this is a global issue it is probably unrelated to K2.
Is your site experiencing heavy traffic? It could be mySql crashing and causing tables to lock. Have you tried repairing your DB tables?

Fatal error: Call to undefined function mb_interna

Category: English K2 Community

Hi All,

I'm unsure why this is happening and it's not an error I've encountered before, neither could I find anything on Google regarding it.

I did have a VPS server issue where I had to pay cPanel to sort it out and they got my server back up and running and my sites including the one in question Here...

Everything else is back to normal, the main non article pages of the site are working, like my JomSocial elements but I noticed that any actual article pages were just blank.

Therefore I turned on error reporting and it reports the following;

Fatal error: Call to undefined function mb_internal_encoding() in /home/swswsws/public_html/components/com_k2/helpers/route.php on line 93

I have checked and have the latest K2, I did overwrite with a new downloaded copy of 2.6.8 but it makes no difference.

I am running Joomla 3.3.1

I hope somebody can help me resolve this issue and look forward to hearing from you in due course.

Regards,

*UPDATE* I have finally located what "Could be" the issue in another thread that says "You will likely find that mb_string is not enabled on your server." Indeed after checking this is disabled on my VPS server, so I'm currently in the process of enabling it and hopefully the above error should disappear... shouldn't it?
