2.6.0 update: Fatal error (...) models/item.php

Category: English K2 Community

Edit: Ok, I'll compile 2.6.0 erros so far:

1)
Fatal error: Call to a member function getSearchValue() on a non-object in /home/l ... /public_html/administrator/components/com_k2/models/item.php on line 721

I get this error every time I try to edit an article (when saving it). It's very frustrating...

2) Extra-fields are not showing when the Category is selected.Only when the article is saved, but as stated, then you can't edit it anymore.

3) Cpanel.php problems (error on backend, can't change order ir the file is deleted): See post

4) Facebook problems. See post

I would say everyone to DO NOT UPGRADE YET! It was a lot of issues.

PS: I had to create a new account because I wasn't able to post here with the old one, it always said:

-post-: Category has been locked.

I am new to K2 and Joomla. My site is down because of this new update I think. Is there anything I can do to get my site to work while waiting for K2 to fix this bug?

Here is the error I get on the front end of my site

Fatal error: Class 'K2Table' not found in /home/partydogz/www.partydogz.com/administrator/components/com_k2/tables/k2user.php on line 13

UPDATE:
I have disabled all K2 items and site is back up so I can start to update again. I do wish to continue learned the K2 product and using it on my site so I am still looking for a fix.

I just updated to the latest version & now get this error:

Fatal error: Class 'K2Model' not found in /MySite/components/com_k2/models/itemlist.php on line 18

Any page w/ a K2 item only shows this error. Is there a fix or can someone tell me when the update does not have this problem? I had to re install a prior version & it whipped out my K2 items.

Hi Lefteris,

Sorry for the late reply.

Fatal error: Call to a member function categoriesTree() on a non-object in /home/.../public_html/sites/test/administrator/components/com_k2/views/items/view.html.php on line 124

Joomla 2.5.7
K2mart
K2 - Css4K2
PHP 5.3.17

After the update, the error occurs when the administration should be selected K2 articles.
Delete the file / administrator/components/com_k2/models/cpanel.php.
but the error persists. If you want to give access to the site.
Regards !!!

Help! Major roblems after upgrading to Joomla 2.5

Category: English K2 Community

Hi,
I upgraded my site to Joomla v. 2.5 (using jUpgrade); while testing the new site, I get this error message:
"Fatal error: Class 'K2Table' not found in (...)/jupgrade/administrator/components/com_k2/tables/k2category.php on line 14"

I get this error with every click :(
As it seems, the upgrade totally ravaged my site. I can live with the fact that the template is gone, as long as people can navigate through the site.

This is the 2.5 test site:
www.claudiamulder.nl/jupgrade/

And this is the actual site (v.1.5.26) completely build with with K2:
www.claudiamulder.nl/

Any suggestions how I can get this fixed are greatly appreciated!!

Claudia

NOTE - This is only for Joomla! 1.6. and 1.7 users who accidentally installed K2 2.6

There are several ways but unfortuanetlly non of them is very easy. You can extract the package in your computer and then look at the files. You need to replace the 2.6. files with the files of 2.5.7 package. You are going to need FTP access to your server for this. An important thing to remember is that the plugins files need their own directory. This means for example that the file of the 2.5.7 package /plugins/system/k2.php needs to be placed at /plugins/system/k2/k2.php. Before you place the files make sure to backup in case you delete any wrong files. After finishing you will probably be able to access your administration. If so install the K2 2.5.7 again through the installer.

UPDATE: Another possible solution would probably be to just remove (or rename) the file /plugins/system/k2/k2.php. I have not tested yet but this should give you admin access again so you can install the K2 2.5.7.

Thnx. So how to proceed? Do we need to look for the individual K2 files in the public HTML directory and replace them?

@Jarrett

Can you be more specific? What versions are you using? Where did you get the error? Front-end or backend? module or component ( and what view )? Do you have any K2 related extensions installed?

PS,

There was no announcement about compatibility when I updated. There was only the notice on the Joomla panel that there was an update to be had. You click on it and it says K2 and that is that. There was no notice at all.

I am using Joomla 2.5.7.

The error I get as soon as I logon to the backend is:

"Model Class cpanelModelCpanel not found in file"

....which is odd. I dont use cPanel to administer the backend of my K2 site. This error has ONLY occurred ever since I updated to the latest K2. I had updated to the latest Joomla, version 2.5.7, the week before K2 was updated.

While this error doesnt stop me administering in the backend in K2 or even in Joomla, it is a definite worry.

To the person who cannot get to the backend of their site any longer, you might contact your site hosting agent. I host my own stuff as a reseller through Hostgator. They keep automatic updates and can revert your site to an earlier version if needed. Your hosting agent may be able to do the same for you.

Hi, can you please give some more details how to fix this or how to get access to the backoffice? Our site is now offline and as we have no access to our backoffice we cannot deinstall the component. What should we change through FTP? We don't have K2 2.5.7.

Thanks in advance!

Hi. K2 only supports Joomla! 1.5, 2.5 and 3.0. Other versions of Joomla! are not supported in K2. 2.6. You should update Joomla! to 2.5 or go back to K2 2.5.7.

Use of obsolete JParameter class...=> Fatal error

Category: English K2 Community

Hi,

In Joomla! 3.0, the JParamater class has been removed (and was already deprecated for J!1.6 to J!2.5) in favor of JForm.

K2 2.6.0 still tries to call and use it to manage K2 plugin implementation in K2 item/category backend.

So for now, K2 plugins can no longer work on a J!3.0/K2 2.6.0 platform.
