Is there 'anyway' to sort a specific gallery by the name in descending order?

If not, this option needs to be added to the parameters for sort type (name/date) and sort order (ascending/descending). It is irritating to have to prefix a number to get the images in the order you want them, ie: 999-, 998-, 997-, etc.
