One Simple image gallery - 2 websites was created by Emanuel
Hello

I have on the same server, 2 different sites.
One is J 15 and the other is J 3.x

On the j 15 site, I have many images folders.
/home/public_html/my_server/images/stories/...

On the J 3x I want to have the same path:
/home/public_html/my_server/images/stories/...

(To avoid the path:
/home/public_html/my_server/ADDON-DOMAIN/images/...)

This will save me lot of double work, I will save disk..

What file should I alter to change the path, so the J 3x to read the images folder from the J 15 site?

Please help step by step.
Thank you

Head on the plugin settings.
The first one should be called Root folder for image galleries

You can try choosing the 1.5 path, but I do not think this will work unless you are on the same server and the same account (user/group) too.

It is possible that the other site will have different permissions or the current one will not let you use images outside its root folder.

You can ask your hosting provider about symlinks, because without them I do not think this is possible.

Thank you for reply.
Both sites are on the same server, on same account.
One is main site, (1.5) the other one is addon (3.x)

Please tell me what file should I modify in Joomla 3x, SIG? to make it work.
Thank you

You do not need to modify any files.
SImply locate the setting I mentioned in my previous post.

I think you should also ask your hosting provider about this, and show them our conversation.

I hope you missunderstood me.

On 1 site the folders are already created.
I only want to change the path of SIG for the 2nd site.
That't it :(

WHere I insert the symlink the hosting provider will give me?

For the symlinks, the hosting provider will provide you with details.

I did not misunderstand you. You need to edit the setting of the plugin ( Root folder for image galleries ). Open the plugin's setting and set the new root folder.

I am not sure it will work outside the site's root folder.

How should the question for hosting provider should be:

"
Hello
Please tell me the symlinks for the folder:

/home/aks/public_html/images/stories/akisgroup/products/ ?
"
