I just installed a fresh Joomla install 3.2.1 into a subdirectory (member.explorationnation.com). I installed K2 (latest version) with no other plug-ins. I am using a default template for now.

When I create an item it gives a 403 error (I'm a superuser). When I create a menu with a category listing or item from K2 same error.

I have set up usergroups in K2, checked permissions in Joomla and tried multiple combinations of public, registered, guest, etc. and K2 items simply don't work.

for the superuser group in K2 I checked "Yes" on everything and "none" on Filter.

When I log out the K2 menu item disappears.

Normal Joomla articles work fine.

I have interesting problem:
- I have 1700+ items
- I have extra field (textarea), which is correctly assigned to the extra fields group, the group is correctly assigned to the category.
- the problem occurs when I create new extrafield (textarea), assign it to the current group, but this newly added extra field doesnt shows in item view (everything is setted up correctly ... showing extrafields atc ,), only shows the extrafield which is added 3months ago.
- if you go to the k2 item, the extrafields are there ...
BUT, If I open a k2 item, then I resave, the newly added extrafields shows in frontend.
I tried to clear cache, purge cache, check in, clear browser cache, publish/unpublish item, trash it than renew it, move it ... nothing. Only resaving helps, but I really dont want to open 1700+ items - save than close :S :blink:

This was exactly what happened when I began this upgrading: The 3.1.5 version announced that there were 2 upgrades. Joomla 3.2 and the Swedish language files. I upgraded both but the English expressions did not change into Swedish.

But I think I know what may be the problem: It worked when I created an override for K2_PRINT in Swedish:



When I check the translation at transifex.com I discovered that K2_PRINT is translated into "Skriv ut".

So my conclusion is that the K2 language fles that I downloaded yesterday from getk2.org are not reliable. How often do they pull the language files from transifex.org?

Hi, I'm new to k2.

Created an item to test k2 installation, and it doesn't appear only on front-end.
Items created previously on Joomla only appear OK.
I have imported the data from Joomla already.

Author publishing status:
Language =all
Access level =Public
Creation date = 21013_08_19
Start publishing 2013_08_18
Finish publishing =empty

What else should i check

k2.css is in fact in that folder but chances are your template uses its own version of k2.css.

If it doesn't you need to override this file. more info can be found here: getk2.org/documentation/tutorials/174-templating-with-k2-and-the-concepts-of-sub-templates

Did you try IAKI?

As for moving the image you have to open item.php locate the image block and move it where you want. No special skills are needed since the code is very well commented.
All you need to watch out is not to break any <?php if() ?> .. <?php endif; ?> checks.

Having an issue with second category. I am happy to see that the new version of K2 doesn't seem to have the issues of having "items" in their URL structure.

However, when creating a second/child category - I get the item id# in the URL. I checked the parameters and have checked it as off.

i.e. Created a "parent" category NEWS. Created a "child" and "second" category 2013.

Now the URL shows:

www.domain.com/news/2013/2-2013/newsarticle

If I select either child or create a separate category, this URL displays like this. Is there any other way to remove the "2" from appearing. 2013 is #2 category ID.

I would like:

www.domain.com/news/2013/newsarticle

I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction. We have Joomla 2.5.11 running with K2 2.6.6. After the upgrade, it would appear that the slider function is not working...

I have checked to make sure there are published articles and everything is enabled, but there is either an incompatibility that I am unaware of or I am missing something. I do know that there was an issue with the jQuery Easy update at the same time, but I don't know if the two are related. The latest version of jQuery Easy was installed over top since it wasn't updating properly.

I did note that there is at least one other post that said that the K2 Camera Slider version did not update to 2.6.6 for them and I can confirm that mine has not update either. It stayed at 2.5.7.

If I need to rollback K2 to the previous version to get the slider back, can anyone tell me how that is safely done?

I am using K2 for my articles. I insert some images directly in the text with help of the WYSIWYG editor and they dont show if I go to the article from an external link.

It seems that the image itself has a bad link generated to itself. I have them stored in /images/k2/galazilina2013/DSC_0203.jpg for example and thats how they usually work, but when I for example visit the article from Facebook link on my facebook or any other external link I get a imageless K2 article and when you check the image urls you have the article category generated in front of the like this kocko.sk/sutaze-v-bojovych-sportoch/images/k2/galazilina2013/DSC_0203.jpg <- this is the actual image url, which is ofcourse bad.

I did a test and I COPY-PASTEd the content of the article into a joomla article everything shows up as it should you can see the article here kocko.sk/faq.html
So I am assuming I have something wrong with my K2 settings.

Can someone please help me solve this?

Reading the error I am unsure why it is trying to select since it is a new install and there have never been any items added.

If I knew where to find the query in the page I could debug but I don't know where you have the query code nested.

{intval()} should not be getting passed to the query.
In other words.
The value of i (intval) should be getting passed to the query not the actual variable.

My K2 is only a few weeks old. I've tried "Checking the extensions" from the extension manager and it doesn't find any updates.

Can I install the latest K2 over top my existing one? I don't want to lose my articles. I'm just using the protostar and beez default templates. Both aren't showing read more.

My K2 component and k2 plugins are all 2.6.5

One funny thing in Control Panel when I observe "Checking Joomla" on the right side, it says unknown version. If I click that it says:

and this other message it`s just when i tried to create categories:

"Non-static methods JTable::isCheckedOut() should not be called statically in...."

Any help? I already tried to install previous versions of k2 (v2.5.7) and with that i got worst errors message.

I don`t want to use previous k2 versions, i want to use the most actual version... What should i do?

(Por fin he conseguido adaptar el código que planteabas en tu post de hace tiempo para que mi K2 calendar muestre las subcategorías, pero ahora tengo un problema y es que al pulsar sobre la fecha en el calendario me salta a una página en blanco. No soy programadora y no sé a qué se debe, ¿me puedes ayudar?
