Unfortunately this not solve the problem.
I've read something about some database issues after update to Joomla 3.2.3, related with - Database schema version (in #__schemas): 3.2.3-2014-02-20. I had fix that.
Because the files that we have to change in order to fix are:
administrator/components/com_installer/views/database/view.html.php and
administrator/components/com_installer/views/database/tmpl/default.php, and the file that the system report the error is:
administrator/components/com_k2/views/item/view.html.php on line 100, I think this problem have a direct relation, since the information about the database put me some doughs.

I've just notice this situation today, due a report from a collaborator that have access to add items in front end.
When trying 'Add Item' , the popup window give error:

Fatal error: Call to a member function isCheckedOut() on a non-object in /hsphere/local/home/c290983/theazores.pt/administrator/components/com_k2/views/item/view.html.php on line 100!

Everything works fine in the administration, I can add/edit items with no problem.

System:
- Joomla 3.2.3
- K2 2.6.9 (Develper Build) - The problem starts with 2.6.8 version, I've just install de Developer Version to see if this fix this problem.

Appreciate your help, this is URGENT.

K2 (v.2.6.5) has seemingly worked perfectly up until trying to install the latest K2 filter extensions (both search and filter and the Joomlart offering).

Trying to upgrade has caused problems and I suspect it's something that needs fixing in the core files - would be eternally grateful for some pointers!

Would really rather avoid any major uninstall - if possible!

The modules install OK, but when trying to create a new module, the styling on the module breaks and I'm given the error:

Obviously something is wrong with your setup. The Fatal error in categories manager comes from the core Joomla!. This makes me think that probably updates are not applied correctly in your system ( both K2 and Joomla! updates ) and that's the issue causing all this. Check again your server file permissions. Maybe Joomla! cannot override some files and the update installs partially.
