William if it's normal what do i have to do to follow up? There's no K2 dashboard link ANYWHERE. I've looked in every menu, submenu, etc. Any idea what might have happened to do this?

Sorry, should have been more thorough in my post. I looked in all the menu sections including components and nothing is there. I do see the k2 modules installed under Menu Manager, but the components tab has nothing new. Tried loging out/in and nothing.

OK, that explains. K2 v2.4.1 is for Joomla 1.5. The new version of K2 v2.5 for Joomla 1.5,1.6 and 1.7 is still under RC, you can download it here.

I install K2_SVN in a new install of J1.7.1 and gives a message error: cannot build admin menu´s

 

In admin menu : Components, the K2 doesn´t show, but i can acess writting in browser

/administrator/index.php?    option=com_k2  

 

Another issue that i have is importing jArticles to K2.....gives fatal error

Another issue but i think thats general (i dont know if its a browser fault, server or even my pc) in creating categories, i can´t hit in save or save+new......i can only click on cancel button.

I'm using K2 svn with Joomla 1.7.1

When wanting to make a new account on the frontend wiyh the K2 Login module , the following error appears: Fatal error: Call to protected method JView::_addPath() from context 'plgSystemK2' in /home/..../templatename/plugins/system/k2/k2.php on line 193.

The same error appears when logged in (with an account made in the back-end) and trying to open the link My Account.

 

I've tried the K2 Login Module on several other websites with K2 SVN and Joomla 1.7 and the same error keeps appearing.

Anybody an idea what's going on and how to fix this?

 

 

Activated K2 Login module and it appeared on the site on left area.

The steps im using are

akeeba backup

upgrade k2 2.4.1 to 2.5 n j1/5 site

install jupgrade

ugrade to 1.7

reinstall k2 2.5 in the jupgrade directory

install a 1.7 framework/temlate

test and rebuild menu items etc

 

OK, I've been thinking about this.  I'm using working copies of the live site and this updated version.  Would I be ahead if I installed k2 on the working copy of the current site, exported using k2, and then imported in the new framework?

 

I have tested with an alternate template - one designed for Joomla 1.7 and K2 - Joomlart Template based on T3 framework.

 

Still get same error.

I have not added any simply because I do not know where I do such a thing.  I'm very literally running a stock Joomla 1.7 install and the 2.5 RC version from the getk2.org front page.

 

Where should I look to check custom overrides?

 

I assume your using k2 2.5 svn or rc version, If not try installing the latest 2.5 version

If you had custom overrides try disabling them.

Further, just to check, I have published an item using the Joomla content system and successfully clicked through to it without error, so it is only K2 that is errored out...

This is not my first go-round with Joomla.  I run about 30 sites with it, but I am not a coder.

 

I am attempting to redo my company page in a dev (XAMPP) local environment, and I am essentially starting from scratch.  I've done a clean install of J! 1.7.0 and I've used j2xml to transfer articles from one install to the other.

 

After a successful transfer I have used the Import function of K2 to pull over all our articles.  I then Trashed the articles in the Joomla content area.

 

I created a new menu item (I'm just running Beez 2 Default template and no other components except the j2xml importer) called "Everything" and pointed it to K2 categories (all of them).  The menu item "Everything" shows all the articles and their intro text, but when you click through on any article you get the following error.

 

 Fatal error: Call to a member function getLanguageFilter() on a non-object in C:\Dev\htdocs\rdlj17\components\com_k2\models\item.php on line 25

 

Does anyone have any ideas?  Google is not helping me here.  I have looked for major and minor variations on this error and have failed to find anything helpful other than references to a Swear filter.

I am loving this module.  I have it working on one of my extra fields.  I have another one on a sub-category and it searches for things that do not have the topic I am searching but when I click on a topic I have in the sub-category, I get

Hi,

during old joomla content import I received following error:

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /.../public_html/libraries/joomla/utilities/arrayhelper.php on line 163

I have some content to import (more or less 1000 articules, no images at all, largest category contain 4000 articles).

My ecosystem is: Joomla 1.5.23 (updated from initial 1.5.15)  / PHP 5.2.14 / Mysql 5.0.90-community.

Even I tried to archive part of old Joomla content; then import; then unarchive and archieve another part import and so on. But in Joomla! you can only archieve articules not categories, and it seems that even importing categories without any article takes a lot of time.

What advice? Any dimensioning? Any trick?

BTW:

Of course I have no access to php.ini to upper max_execution_time.- this is standard hosting not XAMP instalation.

BTW2: I am novice to K2 so I post it here, may be this is not a proper place - if so: please redirect the topic.
