Error (time out) when uploading image in item

Category: English K2 Community

Trying to upload images I am getting this error:

Fatal error: Maximum execution time of 30 seconds exceeded in /home/witf/public_html/administrator/components/com_k2/lib/class.upload.php on line 4480

I am uploading with the IMAGE tab along with the EXTRA FIELDS, etc. tabs in the item panel.

The image sizes are fairly large, but my server can usually handle them no problem. Any advice?

I'm using K2 and attempted to install ARTIO by going to Extensions > Install/Uninstall and I received the following error:

"Warning: require_once(/home/XXXXX/public_html/XXXXX/libraries/joomla/installer/adapters/sef_ext.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/XXXXX/public_html/XXXXX/libraries/joomla/installer/installer.php on line 216 Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/home/XXXXX/public_html/XXXXX/libraries/joomla/installer/adapters/sef_ext.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /home/XXXXX/public_html/XXXXX/libraries/joomla/installer/installer.php on line 216"

Okay, this is what I have found so far:

Its very likely that you have two insances of recaptcha in the website, one built in for K2 and another probably at the contact page, which has nothing to do with K2, (probably from the Google recaptcha plugin for Joomla). This is the situation I have and ending up with the error:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare _recaptcha_qsencode() (previously declared in [path]/plugins/system/jezReCaptcha/recaptcha-php-1.10/recaptchalib.php:47)[path]/components/com_k2/lib/recaptchalib.php on line 67

Seems like the system plugins generate the codes first before the K2 built in plugin. When I disabled my system plugin, the K2 plug-in works just fine... which leaves me with trying to see what to do about the contact pages.

I am going to look around to see if there is a hack for components/com_k2/lib/recaptchalib.php on line 67

to allow for a code that is already generated.

Multibyte String Alternative? was created by Martin Wilkins

Multibyte String Alternative?

Category: English K2 Community

Hello

I've read a few post where people have been having trouble saving categories etc due to not having Multibyte String Enabled/Installed in there setup of PHP - the short answer to that so far has been to "get it installed".

This is not always possible as someone posted but never recieved a response. So what if you cannot get this installed on your server for what ever reason?

I can see from a quick skim through the code where MultiByte String is required there looks like an alternaitve - the unicode slug. This is not part of the Joomla core (in v1.5.22 anyway) so as a test I installed this plugin to see if it works ok as an alternative but as soon as you enable it you get:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class jfilteroutput in /xxxx/xxxx/vhtdocs/www.testsite.com/plugins/system/unicodeslug/filteroutput.php on line 24

which to me says this alternative method will never work as is. Forgive me if I'm wrong as I'm new to K2 and how it works but is the reason for this error due to K2 'reloading' all of the plugins and then after this the Unicode slug is loaded again?

I can understand the importance of MultiByte String functions for Multiple language support but what about those that will only ever server English content and simple urls in the there installation?

Any help in understanding and fixing the problem with the MultiByte alternative would be much appreciated.

System/Setup specs:

live linux host

php v4.4.7

Joomla v1.5.22

K2 v2.4.1

Cheers

Martin

A funny error when I publish an article / item

Category: English K2 Community

This is the error returned by K2 upon publishing a new item ... Fatal error: Call to undefined function mb_regex_encoding() in /home/bkocoza/public_html/administrator/components/com_k2/tables/k2item.php on line 75

My progress of events -->

- I updated Joomla to 1.5.22

- Removed a funny named index.php.PLX or PLC or something odd such as that on my list of installation files

- Then I added Google Analytics code to my site ...

Which change could have messed up my website?

Rgds,

You should contact the manufacturer or supplier of the module for help with their product, but based on the error message, it appears that it may not be compatible with our shared hosting environment. Possible K2 CiviCRM javascript conflict

Category: English K2 Community

I am having a problem with a Joomla - CiviCRM contribution form which seems to fail intermittently. I'm a web designer not a programmer so here goes:

I have used the Developer toolbar in Firefox to try to track down the error and I get an error (fatal?) on k2.js. missing } after function body - I think it's in the last function.

Other warning messages are relate to style sheet issues.

I'm not including the code becuase I'm sure you have a copy.

IE on the other hand gives me this: Webpage error details User Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; Trident/4.0; SLCC2; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.5.30729; .NET CLR 3.0.30729; Media Center PC 6.0) Timestamp: Sun, 12 Dec 2010 19:51:39

UTC Message: Object doesn't support this property or method Line: 13 Char: 5 Code: 0 URI: www.xxx.com/xxx/components/com_k2/js/k2.js which is at " Recaptcha.reload();"

I have disabled the K2 comments features as well as recaptcha so I'm wondering why I'm getting this error is and what I can do about it.

Removing the K2 component would be a last resort.

--- The story continues
Renamed k2.js to disable it.

Now I'm getting an error media/system/js/modal.js plug that into the evaluate bar and I get another syntax error missing } after function body

Any help suggestions if greatly appreciated.

I may have to remove all the content from K2 and uninstall it if there is no solution.

Register problem when System K2 is enabled

Category: English K2 Community

Hello. I have a problem with my K2 Component. I use it to list some items from some categories in my page and I saw that when the System - K2 plugin is activated, the register page doesn't work:

Fatal error: Call to undefined method JPathwaySite::setPathway() in /home/*****/public_html/plugins/system/k2.php on line 137

Now, on line 137 in k2.php I have this:

$pathway->setPathway(NULL);

I'm not a php guru, but I have changed setPathway with getPathway and this little tricks it seems it works. But, then, I have another problem:

Fatal error: Call to a member function def() on a non-object in /home/*****/public_html/components/com_k2/templates/register.php on line 31

On that line, I have this:

  <?php if ( $this->params->def( 'show_page_title', 1 ) ) : ?>  <div class="componentheading<?php echo $this->escape($this->params->get('pageclass_sfx')); ?>">      <?php echo $this->escape($this->params->get('page_title')); ?>  </div>  <?php endif; ?>

If I delete all <?php > commands, I saw I am able to create a new account, but I'm not sure of the security page.

User-K2 plugin is disabled, but I don't want to give up on System-K2, so is there any way that I can disable this register way? I want that users can register on default Joomla! register page.

Thank you for you patience!

Image uploads not working all the time

Category: English K2 Community

New install of K2 with GD library. Most item images upload fine, but some just showed a white screen. Turned on error reporting to see what was going on.Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 16777216 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 900 bytes) in /vservers/thsweepercom/htdocs/administrator/components/com_k2/lib/class.upload.php on line 2947Why would memory be exhausted if the image is a small one? I tried saving the image at different sizes, and in different formats including a 22k gif and still it won't work. I have attached one of the images. I have larger images that work just fine so what could be different about this one?I need this to work for a client without having to mess around with image formats which is beyond her right now.Note that the image does appear in the src folders so it uploads Ok, the problem is when it tries to manipulate the image using imagecreatetruecolor functionAny help appreciatedWoody

Fatal Error

Category: English K2 Community

I asked, with no success/reply on the Forum, so I try my luck here in hope for help/advise:
I get the following error message on my LOCAL HOST and ALSO on a PUBLIC SERVER (hosted on Rochen Host):

Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/siteName/modules/mod_k2_content/tmpl/no_plugin/default.php' (include_path='.:/Applications/xampp/xamppfiles/lib/php') in '/siteName/modules/mod_k2_content/mod_k2_content.php on line 35

Sure, the folder "no-plugin" (as stated in the error message) does not exist, but why that/what's the problem? (but, a "default.php" exists in /tmpl/Default/ )

The "Information" section in K2 backend confirms all listed directories writable, ALL modules and plugins (!!) are installed and enabled.

RUnning Joomla 1.5.22, K2 V2.3

ANY SUGGESTION WHAT IT TAKES TO FIX THAT ?

Thanks a MILLION !

James Friesen said:I also had to recompile my apache using EasyApache to include the mb_string option. I would guess that the people running into this option are on dedicated servers or something like that, most good hosts will already have this compiled into PHP. But thanks for the heads up Toryalai, it was actually pretty easy once I found EasyApache.

Yup if you use WHMCS in the EasyApache setup you can enable a whole host of things. Pun intended.

I had found like 15 programs that were not installed on my new server that were on the server setup by my old hosting company.
