My recommendation, though, would be to remain where you're at in K2.

I have a similar issue. In my case I have written an article with multiple images in Live Writer. I exported this to Joomla via the Metaweblog API which is easily setup in the LW account settings. I then import into a K2 article. Now if I want to make any major changes to the item it would be good to do a 2 way edit between K2 and LW via XMLRPC or whatever. However, I don't think this is possible. Failing that be able to export the article back into Joomla. Editing in K2 is possible but I have to watch for session timeouts (ahhhhhh!) and I don't have access to the LW plugins.

K2 was designed to address a lot of the things that are missing from Joomla articles. If I needed to do this myself, I'd go into phpMyAdmin and write a simple query to select out the needed fields and insert them into the joomla article table.

David R. said:An export to Joomla articles from K2 items would be a lossy proposition. What would you do about attached images, videos and tags, not to mention the fact that you can have a tree of categories, where Joomla doesn't support that idea at all. What would you do with the data from any custom fields you added?K2 was designed to address a lot of the things that are missing from Joomla articles. Hey Puneet, are you available to help a brother out with this problem? I'm a K2 user and im currently using a Gavick template. Now that Gavick has released the same template under 1.6 which also fixed a lot of bugs & etc, I still can't make the jump until i figure out what the hell i would do with my content.

- possible to transport articles back to joomla native database
- k2 for joomla 1.6
reason:
- only one thing is the usable difference - in joomla 1.6 i have no possibility make menu positions for keywords
I have a database with articles in k2 in my info website but in joomla 1.5.x, for me joomla 1.6 presents better platform and has better solutions, i'd be greatfull for solution, ezport back or for k2 for 1.6, if 2nd solution appears i'll donate k2, beacuse i think that people who made that component did something worth support and admire, but if k2-creators took adecision to do nothin in the future with their component, i will heve to resign from that, i thik that's no good for anyone.
will k2 meke changes or will choose to desapire?

I want to transfer all my K2 items to Joomla articles, but there is no facility for this. The reason for this is that I'm no longer able to add a new item or a new category to K2, so K2 is no good to me. I get the internal server error or a blank white screen!
I have not used any of the additional K2 fields, only text / html articles, so I do not worry about losing any of the additional functionality of K2.
How do I transfer the K2 items to joomla articles in joomla sections / categories?
I thank the K2 community for your support in this matter.

My site is running several extensions that do not work well with K2. Also, the frameworks required for several of the K2 templates create problems with other extensions.
Especially with the new features and theme possibilities in Joomla 3.0, I really think there is no need for most people to use K2.
I would love to find an easy way to export K2 content back to Joomla content. But I am quite willing to spend the time copying and pasting, if it means I can have a more functional CMS
