Similar problem. After upgrading to K2.10.0 Pagination not show (not displayed on the page of articles of category)!
Pagination works only if fully replaced the function "public function getTotal()" in file /components/com_k2/models/itemlist.php (start line 380) from version K.2.9.0

This probably means you have a hardcoded reference to that method somewhere in your template overrides (which is beyond weird).

Re-install K2 v2.10.0 and temporarily switch to the Protostar template or just append ?template=protostar at the affect pages' URL to dynamically load them through the Protostar template. Does it work?

Does not work in both predefined joomla templates.
