Hi !
I do not know if this is the right place to ask but I am encountering a problem when trying to create just a category in K2. The error I am receiving is :

Fatal error: Call to undefined function mb_internal_encoding() in /home/larissa/public_html/customer/administrator/components/com_k2/tables/k2category.php on line 46.

As I am not an experienced developer and this is my first try trying to ever build up a website I would welcome anybodys help. I am finding Joomla very easy and when saw the K2 component i was fascinated and that is is exactly what I need for my idea. But I cant make it work.

Matthew,

I had the same problem.

You have to use xmap's installer, not the standard Joomla installer.

How did you install the plugin? You have to use XMAPs own extension installer and not the Joomla! installer.

Hope you found a solution to your problem.

What I had to do is to compile mb_internal_encoding into my php. You can ask for your service provider.

hi, first of all thanks for K2!
I'm having the same problem of "blank page" after a new category is added.
however, after clicking on "save" or "apply" or "save and new" the category is not created and the blank page is displayed.
Mine is a new joomla installation created ad-hoc to try K2, so there're no templates or thirdy parts components.

I investigated and found out that the problem is: (php log file)
PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function mb_internal_encoding() in [my server folder]\administrator\components\com_k2\tables\k2category.php on line 46

Hi. What version of php are you using? Also check the permissions of your files.

I am getting this error when trying to start importing jommla articles or creating a catagory for K2, Can anyone advise what I should do. Thank you

Is it possible to load a module position inside the k2 template ?

I tried adding the traditional module position code of joomla in joomla templates

But I get errors like Fatal error: Call to undefined method K2ViewItem::countModules()

Is there any particular sintax to load a module position inside the K2 Template ?

Hello! I'm testing K2 plugin on my local machine. Installation was succesfull but after I logged in I got the following massage:
"Fatal error: Call to undefined function mb_internal_encoding() in T:\home\qwerty\www\components\com_k2\helpers\route.php on line 56"

Now the main site is not operating at all except for the admin pannel... What can this error be?

I just have instaled last K2 version and when I atempt to create category I get this fatal error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: mb_regex_encoding() in /mnt/web8/11/63/51753463/htdocs/old/administrator/components/com_k2/tables/k2category.php on line 47

I have searched on forum already but did not find exactly the same problem but just similar. I have enabled mbstring functions.

I recently installed the K2 component in a Joomla 1.5 installation on a Windows Server 2003 machine, running PHP 5.2.11. I am encountering the following errors, which I have never seen before when I have used K2:

I get this in the backend of Joomla when trying to add a new category to K2:

Fatal error: Cannot access private property TableCategories::$option in C:\WebSites\RDS\libraries\joomla\database\table.php on line 175

I get this when I click on any article in the frontend of the K2 component:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function mb_substr() in C:\WebSites\RDS\components\com_k2\views\item\view.html.php on line 285

I know this is a PHP problem, but I have looked everywhere and am stumped as to how to fix it. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Hi. Do you get any other error when you turn on error reporting? Also try to increase your php's memory_limit setting.
