I'm getting this. I used JUpgrade. Latest Joomla and K2, downloaded two days ago.

update: solution! after you set all your items to public, special or registered, you also have to do this to the categories.

Your automatic upgrade will not work properly, you will have to face lots of problems in future.
Here are the steps:
1. Make a Fresh install of Joomla, your template, and your all extensions of J 2.5
1. Create K2 User Groups manually
2. Assign Super User to k2 group manually
3. Migrate your K2 Categories directly from PHPMyAdmin database
4. Create fresh Menus and menu items and assign k2 categories (It can be done automatically by migrating menus directly frm PHPMyAdmin but you need to be an expert as you will need to do a lot of modification in database).
5. Now Migrate your Joomla users directly from PHPMyAdmin database
6. Then Migrate your K2 users directly from PHPMyAdmin database
7. Then Migrate your K2 items directly from PHPMyAdmin database
8. Then Migrate your K2 tags directly from PHPMyAdmin database
9. Then Migrate your K2 Comments directly from PHPMyAdmin database
10. After migration of your all data you need to run some SQL queries on your new database.
Thats it!
Note: Just keep in mind that the Id of each item should be same as your previous database otherwise your most of the links will not work.

If you are not comfortable with PHPMyAdmin then you can take my or any other professional service.

Items show completely blank

Category: English K2 Community

My hosting provider upgraded my site to PHP 5.3 so Joomla 1.5.14 was not working anymore.

I upgraded Joomla to 1.5.15 and most of my site was working again.

Had to upgrade Simple Image Gallery Pro also, to get images working.

Then I upgraded K2 to current version....

Now my K2 items does not show anymore. Only a white (empty page) is shown.

This is my site:

www.gassupply.no

A typical K2 item should appear at this URL:

www.gassupply.no/www/gasspeiser/k2-gasspeiser/item/15-panorama100

But unfortunately it does not :(

On the admin side I can see all my items, and they seem to look fine from the "back side".

I am very grateful for any hints to get this solved.

4. Copy overide root/images to root/images of joomla site ver 2.5
5. Modify module position.., rebuilt menu ...

Gentlemen, I thank you for your response, but no one has actually explained HOW to do so. I've already updated/upgraded my joomla. As I stated I bought SPupdate and it migrated everything EXCEPT content originally created in K2. The content I'm migrated from Joomla to K2 2 years ago, shows up just fine. My menus are there but of course if they are associated with K2 categories they are not showing the drop downs.

So, how can I migrate my content, k2 content, manually? I'm happy to hear it can be done manually but no one has said HOW. I have installed K2 already but cannot see any new content. Thanks in advance for your help.

SIG Not Working Since Joomla Upgrade to 2.5

Category: Simple Image Gallery PRO

I just upgraded to Joomla 2.5 and to SIG 2.5.7.  My galleries are no longer showing up in my K2 articles.  I followed the instructions here:

forum.joomlaworks.net/simple-image-gallery-%28plugin%29/sig-pro-with-k2-suddenly-not-working/

I uninstalled SIG, downloaded the admin tool, clicked fix permissions, it ran, but I am still getting the message shown on this page:

theandygram.com/jupgrade/2011-12-season-reviews/broadway-review-nice-work-if-you-can-get-it.html

The directory it is looking for is exactly correct, it's permissions are set to 755.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks!

K2 Galleries Not Showing Up After 2.5 Upgrade

Category: English K2 Community

I have been migrating my site from 1.5 to 2.5. Since all of my content was in k2, I decided it was easier to start with a clean installation of 2.5 and just import the k2 stuff. I did that, everything is showing up fine on front and backend, but where the gallery should be I see {gallery}3786{/gallery} , with 3786 being the item #.

Does anyone know what I have to do to get my galleries working again? This may be a question for Simple Image Gallery since I installed a new version of that as well.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

SIG Pro shows in backend but not in Frontend

Category: Simple Image Gallery PRO

K2: V 2.5.7.
SIG Pro: V 2.5.7.
Joomla: V 2.5.4.

I was operating my site under K 2.5.4. and SIG Pro 2.5.7. and entered an URL under "image gallery" to a folder on my server eg. "gastronomie/gastrobekleidung". Everything was working fine and all galleries were beeing displayed correctly (in backend AND frontend).

Then I upgraded from K2 V 2.5.4 to K2 V 2.5.7. and all the galleries suddenly dissapeared (in the frontend). They are still visible in the backend so the plugin works correctly. The image gallery is activated and even the database entry "imagegallery" is correctly set on "1".

When using the the zip-file upload option, everything works fine and gallery is being diplayed.

dobler.neurodesign.at/kollektion/gastronomie/gastrobekleidung

I thought this problem was solved with K2 V 2.5.7....

Is set all permissions to 755.
Can this problem be located in the migrations process from 2.5.4 to 2.5.7?

I suppose that somehow the "&& !empty($this->item->gallery)" in the item.php can not be written and thus stays empty. Therefore the gallery is not shown in frontend.

But I am not the expert on this, so if someone could help me on this, I would be glad!

Thanks

Tim

Best Way to Upgrade from 1.5-2.5 When Using K2

Category: English K2 Community

What is the best and easiest way for a novice to upgrade a site from 1.5 to 2.5 when using k2? I have tried jupgrade and just found that it does not work for me. Thus, I am having to look for alternatives. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get this done?

Thanks,
Andy

simple, if you use 1. you will loose your changes when you upgrade k2
Joomla overrides are designed to be kept out of the way of upgrades, and #2 is the correct way to override any component

published article not showing on frontend page

Category: English K2 Community

I did change my cache but, my situation may be little different. I had everything working on k2 2.4 except a module that displayed the K2 RSS Feed. From another topic I read that upgrading to 2.5.7 would fix the link issue the module was having. After upgrading ALL of my K2 content dissappeared from the frontend. I can see it in the backend but not the front. If I create a new category and edit (not move that method doesn't work either) and save to a new category then I can pull my items in by user or by category. It seems as if when I upgraded the system no longer recognizes my k2 users or K2 categories.

Does anybody know how to fix this?

Yes. Have a look here: Language String Overrides

You can override the K2 template as well. Look here:

Upgraded and no problem. I did however have to edit the K2.css file again. Oh well.

One MAJOR problem though! I CANT EDIT ANY ITEM OR CATEGORY. I get:

500 - An error has occured.
unable to load format class

Starting to think this was a big mistake.

I am having the very same issue on every website and it never occur before. So I don't know if it was the update or some other cause in the universe but it doesn't sit well with clients.

I looked at source on every website with SSL and they had the same image I will post and hopefully someone can figure it out. I can't imagine disabling K2 and redesigns.
