I have a 1.7.2 installation that is serving as a test site, where I installed K2 2.5.1, and attempted to import articles/items and I received this error:
"Fatal error: Class 'JSimpleXML' not found in /heXYZes/boXYZeb/weXYZ4/bXYZ7/sXYZnc/public_html/mXYZ172a/administrator/components/com_k2/models/items.php on line 716"

Clicking 'Parameters' [no icon visible BTW] opens a pop-up with this error:
"Fatal error: Call to a member function loadByOption() on a non-object in /heXYZes/boXYZeb/wXYZ4/bXYZ7/sXYZc/public_html/mXYZ172a/administrator/components/com_k2/models/settings.php on line 38"

On the Items tab, I have this error:
"Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /heXYZes/boXYZeb/weXYZ34/bXYZ7/slXYZsdanc/public_html/mplXYZ172a/administrator/components/com_k2/views/items/tmpl/default.php on line 112"

On the Users tab, I have this error:
"Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /heXYZes/boXYZeb/weXYZ4/bXYZ7/slXYZsdanc/public_html/mpXYZj172a/administrator/components/com_k2/models/users.php on line 222"

The three (3) K2 plug-in's are enabled: system, search, users

I will continue to search the Forum in case this was already addressed (didn't find it in a search).

Also, is there a calendar within K2, or is that a 3rd party extension (displayed in demo)? I am currently using JEvents but willing to switch if one is incorporated in K2 already.

I apologise if this is in the wrong forum, but I cannot see any other option.

Having moved my 1.5.23 joomla k2 2.4.1 site to a Joomla 1.7.2 K2 2.5 site manually (Jupgrade did not work) I am now experiencing a problem when creating a new user in k2 user module;

When I click "create new account" I get a message which says;

Calendar.setup:
Nothing to setup (no fields found). Please check your code

I have not got a clue what this could be to do with. Many different forums give different suggestions;
Cache, JCE editor, templating issue.

My Cache is set to ON (progresive) MY JCE version is 2.0.3 with k2 advanced link plugin installed and my template is an Artisteer template.

I have upgraded 3 other sites in exactly the same way and used exactly the same plugins, set ups and parameters aswell as templates for all four sites. NONE have this issue except the this site to which I refer.

I would be grateful if anybody is aware of a solution to this issue to throw some ideas at me.

These issues appear to be front-end related from what i've been able to gather. I did look into the plugin that is supposed to help remove the jquery conflict

You can download joomla system jquery plugin from extensions.joomla.org (lets say jqueryeasy or scjquery) and intall it setting it to load jquery and jqueryui in both frond and backend.
If you plan to use mootool upgrade plugin (J1.5.x and K2 v2.5.1), make sure it is the first one of system plugins and jquery is second. Disable K2 jquery loading from parameters.

I have installed and set up the plugin, I have also re-ordered the plugins accordingly but still does not appear to be fixing the problem.

Sorry, i'm good with many things programming wise but this is apparently not one of them.

I don't know if this will help at all, but I do have JomSocial and Kunena installed along with Lyftenbloggie. I was hoping to replace Lyftenbloggie with K2 for blogging. Those are the only three major items I have installed on the site i'm currently working on.

One Idea =

You could simply change the order of plugins, setting System - K2 plugin AFTER System - Mootools Upgrade

Moving and switching these on & off just messed up my Kunena menus and most font sizes

The simple option was just =Disable K2 jquery loading from parameters.

i have upgraded my 1.5 to 1.7, everything looks fine on the administrator but all menus pointing to k2 categories give a 403, i have figure out that if i just open and save a category if fixes it, but then it shows no items. if i go and open and then save an item it apears in the category. the problem is i have about 600 items.
Is anyone else having this problem? anybody has a solution?

1) I disabled K2 to load its jquery grom K2 preferences.
2) I have installed jqueryeasy from joomla extensions site
3) I have enabled the plugin to load jquery and jqueryui in both - frontend and backend
4) I have enabled mootools upgrade plugin and reorderd the system plugin (mootool first and jquery second)
5) I have opened three files from administrator/components/com_k2/elements -> userslatere.php, items.php and categorieslatest.php
- we comment lines from 45 up to 52 and replace class with 'class' in lines 80 and 82
Doing this we hawe working menu manager > K2 > latest items from...., and mod_k2content

I still could not find te reason which is breaking the code in item.php which is needed for mod_k2content )modal and adding items)

If you have problems with K2 v2.5.1 in rendering or operating in backend, than you should check the scripts in element folder. (I will discribe that in another topic - here )

You should be able to just install 2.5.1 over your current install. As usual, make sure you backup first and do the upgrade on a local site to make sure everything is working.

I do have a similar problem.

I really prefered the old way the facebook-like-button worked in k2. I was able to share my content to a special group rather than directly on my profile.

Now, when I press the like-button, the content is auto-shared directly in my profile.

I tried to find a solution to this to revert back to the old way but no way.

Any ideas?

I have my site on Joomla! 1.7.2 and K2 v2.5 (SVN). How can I upgrade to K2 v2.5.1?

I didn't find a direct upgrade option from the v2.5 (SVN) version nor did I find the upgrade from v2.5 (SVN) to v2.5. The only upgrade I found was from v2.5 to v2.5.1.

Please help me with the upgradation, and/or the necessary upgrade files or where I can find them on the K2 Website. Any precautions to be taken before/during upgradation?

We have just released K2mart version 1.4.0.

This new release improves compatibility with the newest release of K2, v2.5. It also fixes a bug which caused K2mart not to uninstall properly.

You are advised to upgrade as soon as possible.

That would be the correct way to do it. Searc h for the code in item.php and change it. Best to do it in a k2 template or override and it wont be wiped upon upgrades

I've just finished upgrading and used jupgrade. I still have the upgrade sitting in the jugrade folder while I set up the template.

Still after the upgrade I cannot get the frontend submititem menu working. The add link from the profile works well. I also have the menu set up as render. Not sure if it matters, but I'm with Bluehost.

I have checked the SQL database and have the following link for the menu item

index.php?option=com_k2&view=item&layout=itemform&task=add

The params are

I have another, what may seem like dumb, question. Once I updated the first time I could see the 1.7 back end but of course none of my things. K2 was not showing or any of that. My site had reverted to the default Joomla site.

Would I just need to reinstall everything to get it to show? And when I say show I mean via the Components menu in the back end etc. I could see my menus on the front page but they weren't of course where they should be nor linked to where they should be. Is it as simple as going in and reconnecting them? That I'm pretty sure I could do in record time. (I've stripped and put the site back together completely differently in about 2 days or less before, once I come up with a plan, that is)

Also I didn't think I'd done the upgrade properly the first time so I lathered, rinsed and repeated and got an error. Could I go in and just delete the Jupgrade folder to try it from scratch, without it hurting anything?

PS, My k2 is all updated and working nicely. I do love you guys, when you do good work, you do good work!
