It seems like I have the same problem.

I use Joomla for about a year, and never seems to have a problem like this on other components that i've been using. Before i've choose to install the K2 component, i was using ZOO application bundled, but they've upgrade the ZOO to work only with mootools 1.2.4 and my template does not suport it, and I dont want to use they're template.

So, when i choose to add a new item in K2, it works normaly, I cand add a title, a text, tag's, etc, but when i go to Image, to upload one image, not a gallery image, i can choose the picture I want, i can add the Item image caption, etc, and when i save this article it apears a blank image.

If i do the same thing to that article, but not add an image, it works perfectly. Any ideas why ?

I am having a problem with K2 2.4.1. My user has published her 31 items (blog entries) and we cannot get a new item to show on the front end. There are 30 articles displaying fine 3 per page, 10 pages paginated. Is there a limit on the number of pages in pagination, or a limit on the number of items in a category. I have checked the category configuration, the publishing start date on the item, un-published other items, etc and cannot get the item to display as the 31st item in the user blog.This is very frustrating to the user as this is an important blog item for her to publish. Also, I just upgraded to JCE 1.5.7.5. Don't know if this makes any difference.BillZonegig Design, LLC.

To make a template override is important because when you will perform an upgrade of K2 instead of loosing all your template changes because you would have made them inside the component folders, you won't.

Hi All. I'll try to do the best of me explaining this strange problem because it's not easy.At first I had a System Menu item set as separator and three childs: two K2 categories and one user page item. Things were perfect.Then I changed the type of the system menu from separator to K2 categories and I added a User1 module to be shown only when that system menu was selected.Now, when I select that menu or any of its three submenus things are OK, ie, User1 module is show when menu item is selected but not show when any of its children are selected, but if I select a user blog entry, the User1 content is show!!!I've upgraded K2 to its last version, I've created a new user, I've moved contents from User1 module to User2 and User3, even to Scroller module... nothing works and User1 (or user2, or user3 or scroller) module content are shown... but always when selecting a user blog entry and not when selecting other K2 items.You can try it in www.tcomm.es/joomla. The menu is "Contenidos" and the submenu showing User1 contents is "Bitácora". Any content published in "Bitacora" is show with User1 module, any content published in "Noticias" or "Archivos" is published correctly.Any help would be very appreciated.

On 2 different sites I have problems Upgrading K2. All other components and plugins can be upgraded simply. This is the error in Dutch "Er is een fout opgetreden" in English "There is an error"FTP layer is enabled. (K2 2.4.1 & running the latest onecssperk2template plug-in, not sure if it has something to do with it)
Sometimes, one item out of 100+ in a particular category will decide to not use the Layout Template assigned to it when it gets displayed. It gets displayed with the built-in K2 layout and css instead.


I unfortunately can not reproduce it since clearing up the cache usually fixes it but it's something I've been running into 4-5 times (different items every time) since I've launched the K2 upgraded site 2 days ago.

Does the upgrade move the media/k2 content to a new folder structure?

If you have changed the core files they will be overwritten.
There is a post here somewhere where Fotis reccomends a source code comparison utility for both pc and mac
Check your k2.css and other files in the core against the ones you are fixing to install.
There should be some differences, but there should also be all the edits you made as differences...They will have to be redone.
Overrides and css4k2 will eliminate most of this, and it may, depending on the site be eaiser to do the overrides first, then upgrade...

hello,i am about to upgrade from 2.2 to 2.4.1 but i am having seriuous doubts (and fears). i am afraid to delete all the css modifications i did to k2. i tried seeing the template override files with kdiff3 but didnt manage to really compare them... what would you recomend me to do?

There's no error message at the websites frontend, just a blank page.

As soon as I pick an article for the Select specific items feature, the webpage goes blank. When I remove the selected page it turns on again. Also, if I create a new instance of the module in question the webpage goes blank when I select any specific item.

Ok, in about 16 hours, I should have a modicum of funding for this project. If we need to develop a solution, I am all for it. k2 really gives us the controls and structure we need, and this is the only feature that is preventing the upgrade.

Hi,I've used the new version on a new fresh install on Joomla and i always see the Google Buzz icon on every items post. But when i upgrade from the previous version of K2 to the latest version, i don't seethe Google buzz icon anymore, it still shows the old icon like digg, fb and the rest.I've tried clearing cache both in Joomla and Browser but to no avail. I am using the latest Joomla version 1.5.21 and K2 v2.4.1.Hopw someone could give me an advice on this matter.Thanks.Regards,Kannan

I went digging around in /media/K2 and discovered that all of my images have been removed. I, uh... didn't expect that to happen.

Guess I'll be restoring my backup now.

I upgraded to 2.4.1 today and noticed that all of my article images disappeared. Looking at an individual article at the Image tab, sure enough, no image is listed.
And I am unable to browse to the image to add it back since all the images are in media/K2 instead of in /images.

I really don't want to manually add back all the images for all my stories. Any idea on what happened?

Since it is not your template issue try to tweak some settings in the specific module in order to find out what's causing this. Please let us know. Thanks.

A breakthrough! I started to disable some modules and voilá: the website showed up when I disabled all copies of mod_k2_content. When I turned them on one by one it was only one of the copies that created the problem. It doesn't matter if I use default or an own sub-template.

Does this give you a hint? I upgraded from v 2.2.

Considering I found this problem in K2 2.2, and K2 2.4.1 still hasn't fixed it... you'll probably have to update the class.upload.php script again to turn off the MIME checking as I mentioned above.
