The template used on that site is called "Arlqueens" and after looking at the template providers site, it appears that the template supports Joomla 2.5 / 3.x, otherwise we could discuss implementing a responsive framework and giving the site a bit of a facelift.

Could you please clarify what you mean by the description area? are you referring to the Intro-Text and Full-Text? or are you referring to the Meta-Data "Description" or Category Description?

In fact I already checked the k2 extensions and I didn't see anything relevant (accepting one plugin to extend joomla users with extra field).
I already saw the readme of the beta3 of k2 with news features (it feels great!), but unfortunately, we cannot upgrade to joomla 3 for this project.

I guess I will have to write my own extension for k2 ?

Sorry for the delay in my reply Krikor.

I love your idea of striping down K2's css. Although I did go commando on my main template, for K2 I was only overriding the css. But after your suggestion I had a look at k2.css and it does make sense to strip it down as well. This will prevent loading of unnecessary additional css that are not needed / used for my template. Also having my own css gives me full control over the sub-template and it could also make it a bit easier for V3 upgrade.

I am now going to go through the k2.css and use only the ones I want for my template.

Krikor, each time you replied I always learn something new. All of your tips and suggestions you have given me so far have helped me heaps with my project.Thanks for that. :)

I think I must be missing something very obvious but I have installed the k2 component on a joomla site (previously 1.5 that has been migrated and upgraded to joomla 3.3.) When trying to assign a k2 content module to a webpage, the only main menu options in the menu manager main menu are from the previous joomla articles and categories from the joomla 1.5 website. I don't understand if I am supposed to create a K2 main menu option in the menu manager somehow? If not what am I doing wrong? The attached screenshot shows the available menus in the menu manager.

It won't work using your method.

If upgrade K2 to 2.6.5 (without modify the recaptcha.php file), it shows the two words correctly, but can't get reCaptcha to work with registering a new account.

I just upgraded our site with clean install of Joomla 3.3, and added the latest version of K2 and when I am on the back end, the drop down K2 menus come up blank. With error reporting on I get this error code.

Thank you Krikor. I had a look at both sh404ref as well as AceSEF. I am usually very picky when deciding to use a SEO component since a lot of times they can cause more trouble than they fix. Creating a custom plugin will not be the option for me. Also its extra work in creating and keeping it upto date during upgrades. So I might probably use K2's Advanced SEF I am thinking. I will get the caching enabled like your advised. Can I ask, do you know or have had experience with using K2's Advanced SEF on sites that has over 10,000 articles? Is it still worth having it or would it have too much of an impact on big databases and not advisable to use it (considering I have caching enabled and have a decent 1GB VPS server)?

I hope the version 3 is released soon. I know the ETA is not a guarantee since it depends on the bugs reported and time it takes to fix them, etc... But when it gets out, it will take K2 experience to the next level and I am eager to have it on my production site.

My deadline for my project is November. So I might get everything set up in the current K2 version and upgrade to version 3 since it appears to be an easy upgrade. Also this might be safer for me just incase if the release date was pushed further for unforeseen circumstances. I read the K2 blog news which said that you would be releasing a version 2.7.0 now which should have a lot of backend improvements with some elements of version 3. Do you have an ETA on that? Is the frontend editing responsive on that 2.7.0 version?
