We are planning to include b/c for the templates so you can upgrade seamlessly.

The last one is completely up to you. It depends on your deadlines and whether you are using any other 3rd party K2 extensions. The update will be quite easy but I can guarantee anything about other K2 extensions.

It will give you an idea (and possibly provide some feedback) on working with an actual site.

First of all, I am really really looking forward to K2 Version 3. It looks amazing and it has some really awesome features. Very big improvements and I cant wait. I have actually stopped my current project so I can wait for version 3 to come out and develop my site as soon as its released. I do have a few questions on this though:

1) I know its currently on Beta release. Based on the current status do you have a rough ETA on when the stable release might be out? I understand you cant know for sure since the RC isint out yet, but some idea on it will be really (hugely) helpful.

2) Is there going to be a lot of changes to the templates? I am assuming, we would need to update the older versions of sub-templates when version 3 is released, is that right?

3) How easy is the upgrade from version 2.6.x to version 3? Is there going to be a lot of database changes? Is it better to wait for version 3 if we havent installed the new site yet?

The translation of K2 extra fields in not resolved yet... I received the plugin by email as well but it does not translate link type. In my specific case as extra fields I do list several video links that you should open with a lightbox, but with the translation these link are not accesible; instead of the links appear the letter A (also when values are not specified) which send you to a strange /r page.
This was the reason why I upgrade to the paid version so you can imagine I'm not happy about it.
But I'm confident this problem will be fix soon.

Help! the photo popup dialog of K2 2.6.8 doesn't work anymore after I've upgraded my Joomla from 3.3.1 to 3.3.3!

When K2 2.6.8 in Joomla 3.3.1 it's all alright and could load the original XL image as it used to be.
But now in Joomla 3.3.3, it always only just shows this "loading" dialog for a few hours any never go to the XL one as what it should used to show inside!





Anyone can help me? :S :(

Mega errors lately out of nowhere.

Thought it had to do with PHP upgrade to 5.4 as many posts online suggest but even reverting the PHP doesn't help. See errors below

Running PHP 5.4.29 with K2 version 2.6.8 (recently upgraded) on a Joomla 2.5.22 install. K2 doesn't resize images upon upload. I checked category settings for image size options and they are all blank (default). When I go into K2 Media Cache and download all flavors of the image they are all the original size I uploaded. Any thoughts on how to troubleshoot this?

I am not sure K2 caused the issue.
The current DEV version (2.7.0) solves some issues with PHP 5.5 but that is not the issue over here.

K2 would not mess with backend admin access. You can always try the following:
a) Restore a recent backup
b) Manually update/upgrade Joomla! so any affected will be overriden
c) Rename K2's folders so the component will not be used (adminstrator/components/com_k2, components/com_k2). I don't think it will help you though.

Finally, you can perform a db migration to a fresh site with the same extensions.

just realized SIG Pro 3x works with 1.5

so if I buy the latest version... is there a risk I will lose the settings that I already have ?
We have more than 200 products in K2 and I don't want to start all over again... the images are still stored in media/k2/gallery ?

if not, can you point me to a document explaining how to upgrade ?

That is how I turned on the error reporting, but it hasn't made any difference at all. Still no error messages, just a blank white page at the URL /administrator/index.php.

The K2 information page says "Memory limit 128M"

I've been trying to figure out why some categories will save but others won't, but most of them are identical except for the category name. I haven't gotten deep into configuring anything yet.


Update: This may be a factor? I updated this site from 3.2.2 to 3.3 and then reinstalled K2, I did all this prior to importing my k2 categories and items (using the extension jimigrator from jinfinity), but I suppose it's possible there's something that didn't upgrade correctly.

Hi. Which version of K2 are you using? This error means that the extension is not installed. Have you upgraded from a previous Joomla version?

Thanks Lefteris, I did that. The published state is (green check mark) and Access level is Public. All the documents are at the same level and published, as seen in the K2 | Items page. There are only two categories, and I am having the same problem with both of them except for the document that forms the front page, or default page .
I am beginning to think it is related to the upgrade to J3.3.0. Tomorrow (I'm going to bed now, it's getting late in Melbourne), I'll attempt to do the same thing with a J3.2.3 site I have, and see if the same problem arises.

PS. How do I remove the "Latest from " that is at the bottom of the page. The documents that are listed here (which are the ones that won't display from the menu's) won't display from this link either.

I upgraded to joomla 3.3 and still does not work, I keep opening the item image in a firefox window explorer

I only noticed it stopped working when I upgraded to Joomla 3.3, so I suspect (like you) that it is a Joomla issue! I guess I need to go back to the Joomla.org site and report the bug there.

As for java script errors, I have opened firebug to check, but I'm not entirely sure I know what I am looking for! However, I haven't seen anything that jumps out and says error, have script or otherwise.
I haven't knowingly changed any code. I have Akeeba, K2, and T3 frame work all loaded as well as the JCE editor plugin.
Sometime today, I see if I can restore from an earlier backup and see if the problem goes away. Interesting that you don't have the bug! What have I done that is different to you? (Don't answer that, it's rhetorical!)

Hello everybody,

I've recently upgraded Joomla to 3.2, together with K2 to its latest version 2.6.8. Everything seemed to go after the upgrade, but then I realized that when I click at the Parameters up-right button in order to configure K2, I only see a blank page. Therefore no changes can be made on the configuration of the module, which is a complete pity... Here I attach a snapshot of what I actually see.

I've tried to reinstall de module, unable/enable all the plugins and even uninstall all the other modules (just in case) and I got nothing... I ran out of ideas, and I would like to keep using K2 for sure!

Any help would be gladly appreciated.

You can use our help desk to get a temporary solution. Otherwise you need to wait for the update which is coming out in a couple of days.

Can you please confirm that the fix has been published or not? If no, when should we expect it?
