Also you are using an outdate version of K2 (several versions behind) that does not have the proper og: tags.
You should update to the lateset version (and your overrides as well) or use a K2 plugin for these meta tags

If you are using word limits then the formatting will be stripped in category listings.

If this is happening inside the items as well, check the extension's parameters.
There are settings that strip all the HTML tags. Make sure these are not enabled.

K2 uses its own tagging system.
The tags are located under the alias and category fields.

Gentili della Community di K2 Italia, sono Francesco, e vi scrivo per chiedervi info su un problema che mi sta togliendo il sonno, sto creando un blog con k2, solo che mi sono resoconto, visualizzando il codice della pagina, che la metatag description e i tag non sono visualizzati, in pratica su ogni articolo la metadescription e le tag sono le stesse e sono ereditate da quelle della categoria, c'è qualcosa che ho settato male?

Ho cercato questa info, ma non sono riuscito a trovare nulla se non articoli molto vecchi che non danno comunque soluzioni

Thank you for your advice. I have created a few k2 templates and selected one for the home page. The document link you supplied and the video tutorials explain the process very well.

Now the editing of the php files is another story. I copied what I though was the social button info from item.php in my new home template:

and pasted in category_item.php, put the new category_item.php but still cannot get the social buttons to display on the home page. Im sure im missing something simple and appreciate any help.

Unfortunately K2 does not offer ordering by tags.
There are extensions (sadly I cannot recollect one) which offer more ordering options.

Try browsing the JED or getk2.org/extend .

I am using joomla 2.5 and also k2 2.6.7. I need to order items by tag, i can see item ordering by most recent, alphabetical order and many others but there isn't tag ordering. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks.

This tag is used for social media services mostly.
You have to hack core files in order to remove it, but since it doesn't affect your site's functionality or SEO I suggest you leave it.

Hi Folks,

I have just been validating my first site built with K2 using the validator at validator.w3.org/.

I notice that K2 is adding a meta tag with the name image that is generating a validation error.

Does anyone know what this tag is actually used for or is it safe to remove?
