In my front page I have a Joomla article in the side-a position (meaning as attached). I would like my tag module to keep the article´s variable height. If the article was shorter, could the module automatically adapt to the new height?

The K2 2.6.5 Open Graph Tag for Facebook is rendering a page url that is missing the first forward slash after the top level domain, creating an error in the Facebook Debugger. See below:

Is there a bug in the view.html file that is causing this? Any other thoughts?

And i think Tag also works in the same way.

Menu Item: Latest K2 from Category "Blog"

I have 3 modules assigned to the sidebar of this menu item:

1. Popular Categories (K2 Tools Tag Cloud)
2. You Might Like (K2 Related Content)
3. Freebie Files (K2 BNR Content regulated with MetaMod)

These modules work perfectly on (as far as I can tell, though I have not manually test *every* Item on the site) every Item except ONE.

When I looking at the generated code with Firebug, there is no code being created for those modules.

I have tested every element of HTML / CSS within the article itself thinking something was causing a break in processing the code on the page, but no luck.

I have disabled every related plugin / module I could think of with no change.

Does anyone have any suggestions???

I have checked and rechecked every setting I could think of in the menu item, K2 paramters, item settings, and category settings - none of which made any change.

Pero K2 crea estas otras en cualquier otra categoria (nada que ver):

Como ven, con solo agregar "item/" y el id del item, se puede crear una página nueva con las mismas características que la anterior indexable por google, y DUPLICADA. A los buscadores no les gusta nada esto.

Como ven: por itemlist/category, itemlist/tag, itemlist/user, que corresponden a un listado de categorias, etiquetas y usuarios, también se crean páginas indexadas por google...

Además de eso, las páginas 404 brillan por su ausencia (si, eso... las extraño). Pues al agregar cualquier cosa en la URL de cualquier artículo de tipo item, me sigue cargando la página como si K2 aceptara toda URL. Miren esto:

Si alguien más tiene este problema (que creo que si, pues hasta la página oficial tiene este problema), por favor me ayuden a aclarar mi problema.

Hola mira aquí puedes ver la solución de url amigables en k2, este método no elimina las url duplicadas pero optimiza las url teniendo el control de lo que quieres que salga en la URL, joomla le da mayor prioridad y mejorar el seo gracias al menú oculto bit.ly/126y6WP

I have re-installed K2 2.6.2 and the problem has gone. I will wait until this is fixed to install new versions because in my web I really have many thing working with tags.

its solved now.
there were two problems: i didnt have the same K2 Versions on J1.5. and J1.5.
J1.5. K2 was older. using the same versions (updating K2 J1.5.) helped solving my problem.

and this was why i couldnt save any tags/categories etc....

after i have solved this i was also able to change the access level of all categories (!).
the access level was not set.

i did the migration from the beginning again and this time completely manually. (without using SP upgrade for the database).

but i have the same error.

i even cant save any k2 content/items/tags....

Unfortunately, this is not a problem with K2 but with Joomla! 3.0. The "canonical" meta tag is reporting the wrong URL for items and it's what Facebook or other social networks obviously put more weight too if your site doesn't utilize their meta tags.

Upgrade to K2 v2.6.5 to trick Facebook for now (as we use the ogp:something meta tags).

But Google won't like that either way.

A quick solution is to kill this meta entirely until it's fixed on Joomla! 3.0.

E.g.

unset($document->_links);

at the very top of your template's index.php file (inside a php block obviously)

I use k2 component for a long time and it suits me. However All versions of K2 above 2.5.7 go wrong and i don't understand why.

Currently, i use k2 2.6.5 on joomla 2.5.8 in locahost. Everything is ok in backend ; but in frontend by trying to add an item, some options get off : i can't load extra fields even if i've firstly selected a category having an extra fields group assigned, i'm always receiving message telling me to select a category to display extra fields ; tablets don't load as well, when i click over them, i head to the bottom where i see tablet contents (media, download, image ...) , the tool bar at right position is blocked.

It looks like javascript issues, so i've tried to puzzle it out in configuration of K2 component changing jquery options but it's always petering out. As i said, editing k2 item in frontend with 2.5.7 version works very well, but i contemplate moving to joomla 3.0 and wanna take advantage of k2 2.6.5 features like required fieds.

Help please

Does anyone know how to order items in a portfolio page using Ordering? It seems by default K2 uses the ID number. I will be using the page as an Events page (tagged by month) with potentially hundreds of events and need to be able to set how they are seen using Ordering instead of ID number which puts the most recently created first...please help.

Finally I have adapt the code that you were raising in your post some time ago in order that my K2 calendar shows the children categories, but now I have a problem: when I click on the date in the calendar it jumps to a blank page. (Por fin he conseguido adaptar el código que planteabas en tu post de hace tiempo para que mi K2 calendar muestre las subcategorías, pero ahora tengo un problema y es que al pulsar sobre la fecha en el calendario me salta a una página en blanco. No soy programadora y no sé a qué se debe, ¿me puedes ayudar?

I started using K2, and I cant find which is the variable that I have to translate in order for the "All" items (tag) to be translated into Greek.
For the rest of the tags, I used joomfish for joomla 2.5 and everything is ok.
Where is that variable, if it is. I found a variable K2_ALL and I translated but nothing happend.
I also installed the last greek language files.

hello everybody,

i migrated my j1.5 site to 2.5.
i used sp ugrade.
then i migrated manually the K2 content (getk2.org/documentation/tips-a-tricks/311-manually-migrating-k2-content-from-joomla-15-to-17). after that i installed K2 on j2.5.

then i had to build the menu-links again, because they wont work anymore (they were linking to K2 tags and K2 content).
but when linking to a K2 Tag there will no articles displayed and when linking to an K2 article there is an error: "you need to login first".

can you help me what ive done wrong?

It's exactly the same problem for me and I think taht it happens since K2 v2.6.3. if you visit:

Yo will find the same items. Also, I think turning off joomla cache it's not the solution.
