Hi, I have looked right now, and I see that the tags I entered have never been saved, when I enter a new tag under the category dropdown list, it never saves,

and when I go to the tags section in K2 (where its all listed beneath each other) there is also no tags only one that I have put in myself, and same items should be connected to this tag but its not working, weird?

I think its a plugin in the joomla website that's causing this mischief, am I right? and if I am do you know which one it could be?

This kind of problem is due to the order of plugin execution.

As far as I can see (I'm in J!1.15.20):

The replacement of the "{gallery}...{/gallery}" is done by the SIG plugin.
Th execution of the plugin is triggered by events.
Example from com_k2/item.php:
The problem is that tag.php doesn't trigger any event and thus doesn't trigger the SIG plugin.
The translation of "{gallery}...{/gallery}" to the real gallery doesn't occur.

Solutions: I would try to trigger the right event in the tag.php file.
Attention: this may lead to nasty effects. Thus to be tested.

I run a motorsport news website which covers a range of racing series. From Formula 1 to Britcar, a national series in the UK. While K2 is the almost perfect solution for me, there are some issues which I am struggling to resolve.

Mainly it is in the presentation of large amounts of content.

My site has been running for two years now, so with categories like F1 and British Touring Cars, I have an impressive number of articles. To give you an idea, I have been writing four articles a race meeting for the BTCC, with ten races a year for two years, Thats 80 articles before things like driver announcements, penalties and other. F1 is even worse, five articles, 20 ish races a year, someone please do the maths, my head hurts.

I have been forced to set a limit of 40 articles per page, otherwise it just is too big and takes too long to load, but that means that even on BTCC, I am no longer able to display the oldest 40 articles should users want to read them. I am also unable, at this late stage in the season, to display all the content from this year.

How can I get pagination to work on a blog layout which draws content from multiple categories?

I am running Joomla 2.5.6 with a modified Gavick template and K2 V2.5.7 on shared hosting with GoDaddy. I am not currently running any third party extensions to K2.

yes I understand that is how it works "straight out of the box" Katia, but I'm needing to use it in a slightly unconventional way - and I know it can be done. This forum is as good a place as any to discuss how an override could be written. All for the greater good of the plugin..  ;)

Well, I guess I'll have to work out how to do a database query for this problem..

It's actually a real shame that it doesn't display in a K2 Tag layout. perhaps that is something that could be brought into future versions of this plugin and K2.

I found a K2 Content module modification, it adds a 'select tag' field into de module configuration.

You may use SIG PRO either by using the K2 gallery tab in each K2 item or by writing SIG PRO tags inside joomla! articles content area or K2 items.

Hi. Please ensure that you are using the latest version of K2. Then check your layout files. Those two radio buttons are different. The user.php layout is looking for the "userItemImage" variable while the tag.php is looking for the "tagItemImage" variable. Your overrides should also work like that.

Hi,

I'm wanting to display a gallery in the K2 tag layout.
Unfortunately there are no parameters to display a gallery in the tag layout, and inserting  <?php echo $item->gallery; ?> into the tag.php file only displays the following: {gallery}36{/gallery} (I'm assuming "36" was the ID number of the gallery associated with that particular item).

Anyone savvy enough with PHP to be able to tell me how I can achive this in the tag.php file?

Hi, I have seen, my tag cloud from the K2 tools module doesn't work, I have no idea what's wrong, I have seen if I select archive then it works, a little help please, total noob here...

Here's what I did but I'm not sure if this is a problem with my site or K2.

1) Go to K2 Parameters
2) Select layout & view tabs
3) Scroll down to "Layout & view options for user (author) pages"
4) Set "Item Image" to hide

Now I go to any tag listing(click on any tag), I see that the images no longer display for all articles. I set "Item Image" back to Show and now the images return.

I thought it was weird, so I scroll down to "Layout & view options for tag listings" then set "Item Image" to hide. I go back to the tag listing and as I expected, I still see the images there. Thus I believe the two radio options somehow swapped place? I almost wanted to reinstall cause I can't for my life figure out why the images are missing in tag listing.

Hi. Probaly some other plugin is outputting some code breaking the request. Check for system plugins other than the standard ones and try to disable some of them.

In K2 tags are not loading can somebody give me a hint on might caused that?
Should i install again K2 would that fix that?

When I try to add a new Gallery in a K2 item, I get following error:

There was a problem rendering your image gallery. Please make sure that the folder you are using in the Simple Image Gallery Pro plugin tags exists and contains valid image files. The plugin could not locate the folder: media/k2/galleries/59

In the plugin settings -> Basic Options
Root folder for image galleries: images

Searching this forum did not bring a solution, anyone with a clue?

You can create a category list menu using K2 Tools module that is installed with the component. Selecte 'Category List (Menu)' option and the root category you want to display.

If your categories are set up correctly and the params for the categories are set properly, you can probably achive something like that with this module
