On this moment I'm developing a website for myself to sell LED lighting. I did counter a problem and I don't know how to solve it. I going to try explain exactly what's going on. 
I have made a menu item in my main menu which shows every K2 item with a specified tag. Then I made a custom module, which is just some text and an image, which I assigned to that menu item. The module K2 tools is also assigned to this menu item (to every menu item btw). 

The problem occurs when you select a categorie of the K2 tools module, when you're inside the menu item I created (and to which I assigned the custom module). The custom module stays on the screen, no matter if you're navigating to another category. 

The Itemid of the assigned module stays in the URL, and is not vanishing when you go to another categorie. 

Someone understands what I mean? And anyone an idea to fix this?

If you mean the graphical look of the links (with a sort of arrow/dot in the first letter), that's one of your template css styles since if you switch to the Mobile look, it goes away).


If you mean the fact that some articles have 20-30 tags... then unfortunately, that's another quirk of K2. The import function tries to be more helpful than it should and creates these tags based on your content. You'll have to delete the content of the k2_tags & k2_tags_xref tables manually to clear all these automatic tags.
Then you can go on and create your preferred taxonomy and start assigning it to your content.

I had the same issue when importing my existing articles, hopefully this auto tag creation can be an option in a future K2 version...

I don't know what went wrong but after clicking on Import the data was imported correctly but it made 2 copies of each item , that means now i had duplicate articles , categories and all .
But that was not a Big deal , deleted them manually .

The problem is the tags below the article look messy , any help would be appreciated .
Just visit the site and see , they are not aligned correctly

I am in the process of working on something similar, although in my case it's going to be an mrss feed. Looking at the view code in /components/com_k2/views/itemlist/view.feed.php, looks to me like a good basis for doing something customized.

My anchor links are acting up; especially in IE.

The links for (anchor tags) "Specifications" and "Build Yours Now" will work fine. But the "Image Gallery" link in the top left menu will not work. The other "Image Gallery" link (the one that is part of the K2 system next to Print | Email |....) does not work on the first try. It actually changes the url. On the second try, it works.

 

Any suggestions? I would certainly appreciate the help.

 

Oh, by the way..... no surprise; everything works fine in Fire Fox.

I never had the time to put into figuring this out and as there wasn't much discussion, no one seemed to be that interested either... I use a separate podcast suite to generate the rss feed which means I end up having to create a blog post and a podcast post for every podcast that I want to upload but it only takes an extra minute to do.

Steps to reproduce:

* Create two categories
* Set on both Item Introtext word limit = 50, or something similar
* Create some content items for both categories, without readmore tag in text content
* Create a new K2 Category menu item
* Select both previously created categories to show
* View menu item in front side of the site

You may enconter that all content items show full text.

I think that menu item should have all config parameters as a category, or, at least be able to select wich category is the config taken from, when more than one cat is selected in menu item.

I am using the default template, with few mod in k2.css.

Note: sometimes even the 2nd tag works.

Hi. Maybe something is wrong in your template files. Try to switch to the default K2 template files and see what happens. Thanks.

The Tag Cloud show correctly all the tags (even the ones after the first) but again, only the ones that are first are linked in a correct way, others links to a blank page.

I am running the site on XAMPP but now i am uploading to a LInux server (php.5.2) to test it.

Hi I'm working on a site to setup a jewellery store (product listings at the moment, moving to virtuemart integration later).I've been working with K2 for a few days now and so far so good. I've setup categories, items, etc and got to grips with the layout parameters for a category listing.My problem is I want to present my products in 2 ways:1. A 'browse catalogue' option which uses the standard K2 catagories/items listings in the usual way - this I have done.2. A simple list of all products (items) with small images, heading and description. This is a list of items from ALL categories, with tiny thumbnail images.For the 'all products' list I've tried to use the Menu Item type Categories, which is pulling a list of all items from a number of selected categories. My problem is that it is also pulling the LAYOUT PARAMETERS from the category, so I cannot make it view the whole list with small images, etc. No matter what layout parameter I change in the menu item, it still uses the layout parameters defined in the CATEGORY. Is this the expected behaviour?

OK - I tried your suggestions... first: since I have a template override, I went to the generic.php in the override directory, added div class="clr" at the end of the genericitemlist section. Then I edited the customized template csss file adding a float:left and a width=250px.

All this had no effect to the layout.

So second: I figured that maybe I should be editing the core files, so did the same thing to the generic.php and k2.css in the com_k2 tree.

This also did nothing...what else should I be doing?

Hi Simon,I pay for fix my issue with Gallery in K2 item Page. I need it asap. Where i find out a K2 expert ?Maybe you can help me in this matter. I am really desperate!Despite a lot of changes and follow many tips & tricks from K2 forums, I still no getting any galleries in my items page.The
zip file upload is fine and I can see my images in media/k2/galleries by FTP, my SIG version  is PRO 2.0.5 with correct path to media/k2/galleries.No error message I get, I can't see gallery thumbs in item page. My Joomla is 1.5.21 and PHP 5.2.14NOTE:
If I disable SIG PRO I can see in item page the gallery tag like <gallery>1</gallery> what means SIG Pro is disable of course, but working therefore. When activated again the tag disappears and the Gallery isn't showed as before.thanks for any help,pablobr

Why would the css file break my images? They are not being served up via css... but my a straight img tag. How do I combine my css with k2 css?
