Fed up with K2 search!

Category: English K2 Community

Hi,I'm using K2.3 for a product catalog. When I'm using the search module, it finds results by searching tags, but not on titles or contents of items. I tried to disable search on tags in the search plugin, I checked all plugins are enabled...I checked on the forum...but I don't see any solution.If the search module doesn't work correctly, I will have to use another CCK solution.Search module is one of the main issue on a web site and I can't use one which don't search on titles or contents.Can somebody help me before I use another CCK?Regards.

I don't know what template you are using, but I am using it successfully with K2.

does your gallery tag have the complete path to your image folder? the default is usually images/stories. try using:

{gallery}FOTOS/{/gallery} or {gallery}images/FOTOS{/gallery}

you can also add subfolders, e.g. images/FOTOS/myFolder

Latest item module -

Category: English K2 Community

Hi,I'm a new user of K2, and I think it's a great thing....but I have a little problem on my latest item module. I have two dots in the content, what comes with the source code. I want to remove them, but after long time searching can't find the real place of this little snippets.

In the page source looks the code:<div id="k2ModuleBox138" class="k2ItemsBlock ">
<ul> <li class="even lastItem"> <!-- Plugins: BeforeDisplay --> <!-- K2 Plugins: K2BeforeDisplay --> <!-- Plugins: AfterDisplayTitle --> <!-- K2 Plugins: K2AfterDisplayTitle --> <!-- Plugins: BeforeDisplayContent --> <!-- K2 Plugins: K2BeforeDisplayContent -->
<div class="moduleItemIntrotext"> <p><strong>IFI alkalom: nyári szünet!</strong></p><br /><p><strong>Augusztus 13-14. </strong><strong>GYEREKTÁBOR</strong><br />A gyerektábor kárpótlása<br />Érdeklődni: Tóth Anikónál</p><p><strong><br /></strong></p><p><strong>Augusztus 15. vasárnap Istentisztelet</strong></p> </div> <div class="clr"></div>
<div class="clr"></div> <!-- Plugins: AfterDisplayContent --> <!-- K2 Plugins: K2AfterDisplayContent --> <!-- Plugins: AfterDisplay --> <!-- K2 Plugins: K2AfterDisplay --> <div class="clr"></div> </li> <li class="clearList"></li>
</ul>

So anybody can help me?I want to remove even the two <li></li> tags or the <ul></ul> property.THXJK

Issue with K2 Tables: ##Error message: The used table type doesn't support FULLTEXT indexes

Category: English K2 Community

AllI use XCloner to backup my joomla sites and restore to a different host, been using this for a couple of years. However, before my next move I checked out a site I built on my local pc, setup another test directory, another new DB (empty) and ran a restore on a backup I had taken. XCloner first unzips all the joomla directory and data structures, then in the new target database it builds the joomla database.All worked as expected except ALL my K2 tables failed - see below.Can anyone comment as to why K2 doesnt support FULL TEXT but more importantly what I need to do to workaround this problem.ThanksGeorgeXCloner Automatic Restore! see I don't see any tag hints for tags I know are there. and in fact, when I start typing the bottom of my i.e. browser says error on page.

wow that makes sense lol, I just didn't know about the new tag versus a tag that was already there.

now of course i am anal so I capitalized every tag when I put them in manually. 2 questions. 1. is that not a good idea and tags should just be lowercase. or 2. it doesn't matter as tags don't recognize case?

Thanks for your respnose

Tags are used as a way to link items together that are the same relevance.

Lets take a sports website as an example, where various reports on sporting events take place.

I made 60 Tags of various words and do not know what I can do with them except for link a menu item to them.

Now what I thought would be when I make an item I would be able to assign various tags to that item... Nope I can make "new tags" via the item but I don't know if those will be Tags in the Tag section or Just Tags with the Item itself.

Very confusing... Could somebody please explain this.

Thanks you.

Tagging Images in K2 Item's Image Gallery

Category: English K2 Community

Say you have a hair salon type site, where you have K2 items which are the various hair treatments.  So you have a gallery, maybe Hair Coloring, and an image gallery of various prior work.  Easy, right?Well, what if you also have stylist pages, where you want to automatically fetch those images for the current stylist?It looks like there is no tagging in SIG Pro, so it may be necessary to point other galleries into the same image directory to get the effect.Thanks for any input.

How Can I create a Page that links to My "Blog" stuff

I went through the tutorial and made Extra Field Groups, and Extra Fields, and Categories, Tags, and User Groups and even an Item.

But for the life of me I can't figure out how to just create a regular old page. I want a page so that when my people come to the site and hit "blog" they will come to a page that explains all the Blogs I have, i.e. video blog, daily news blog, community user groups, platinum users blog (for community members).  I want a front magazine style layout for my "blog" entrance page and I can't think how to create that with K2 because it seems when making a menu item you can only choose and Item which has to adear to a category.  Or a User Blog which is something I want for the platinum users blog, categories or item and that's it.

Could someone please help with how to think of the menuing with K2.

How do I get items that I navigate to through the k2 tag cloud to appear under a generic blog menu Item I have created?
