I write, you should test OG TAGS with RSS feeds enabled in K2.
In code html looks good but if you try share via facebook Image is not from this article and titile. Although the og tag looks correct in the code.

Thanks @Fotis but this would have been too easy ;-)

Check the test here :
k2.securemu.com/index.php/menu-item-for-that-tag

This page is a Tag Menu Item for Tag "my test222 tag". The tag name should have been output just after the text: "My tag name should output here :" since your code appears just after this text in the HTML.

I have also done a VAR dump on this page. "my test222 tag" appears but I'm not sure which code loads it.

In settings > Tag Listings : only "Heading for tag listings", "Item title" and "Link on item title" is set to show.

If Joomla's caching is on, headers are not properly passed on subsequent requests (only on the first page load before everything is cached). This is obviously a Joomla bug. That is why I use a script tag output (which is not rendered at all by the browser since the "type" is custom) so the K2 "system" plugin can read it and essentially re-emit the correct headers.

These headers can be used by other apps or caching proxies then for a better caching strategy.

It's really all about properly caching content, especially on sites with extremely large traffic (which we've been working on almost exclusively the past 13 years or so).

In most of our setups, we use K2 with URL Normalizer to prepare the right HTTP headers and then Memcached (for Joomla's cache storage), Nginx as web server and Varnish as caching proxy. This allows to fully control caching (end to end) entirely through Joomla.

...And I'm glad my Varnish setup helped you as well :)

New version of K2 swaps images on Facebook

Category: English K2 Community

Hi, K2 is a fantastic component that rarely gives problems and I've been using it for 9 years. But now I have an issue in the new version 2.10.3, where Facebook posts don't load the images, actually get swapped images from other stories.
No problem in Jooma or Template Helix 3, and even installing the VM OG Meta Tag plugin, debugging on Facebook, the error of the images continued.
The solution was to return the K2 version to 2.10.0, solving the Facebook post image problem.
Could you help me understand what happens in this version? Or any settings or changes needed?

Thanks.

As far as i know k2 doesn't support tags in search-listings.

You have to add a sql querry for _k2_tags_xref and _k2_tags relating to the item-id of a single result...

A few lines after I noticed the 100 limit, I changed it to 1000 but no luck.

And while the pictures do a pretty good job capturing the new look and feel of the chapel, I want to invite you to stop in and see it personally. Our evening Chapel Services (7:30 pm) are open to anyone or feel free to stop in and ask to see it anytime. The renovation includes new flooring, paint, furniture, and new technology, featuring high-quality video and sound capabilities. You might also notice our pallet feature wall and the pallet canvases upon which we have painted our scripture verses. The pallet wood comes from our Victory Acres Enterprise Program, where we partner with Caterpillar to recycle wood waste and rebuild pallets for them. Of course, one thing that hasn’t changed is the centrality of the cross and the gospel. But we didn’t just renovate the chapel because it needed to be updated (which it did, by the way). We renovated and modernized it for a specific purpose. You have heard us talk of wanting to continually move from a “transactional” approach to a more “relational” approach, and the chapel renovation is another step in that direction. A transactional approach might be understood as doing something to or for someone, whereas a relational approach is doing something with someone. Jesus came to be with us. That’s why one of his names is Emmanuel – God with us. It is by being with us, being in relationship with us, that Jesus saves us. The cross at center stage was given to PRM decades ago and is a constant reminder that Jesus is the only way for any of us to move from poverty to flourishing. The photos on the next page show our recently renovated chapel at our Downtown Men’s Facility. And while the pictures do a pretty good job capturing the new look and feel of the chapel, I want to invite you to stop in and see it personally. Our evening Chapel Services (7:30 pm) are open to anyone or feel free to stop in and ask to see it anytime. We wanted our chapel and the gospel-centered services we hold there to be more relational as well, and these changes help us to that. We are now able to invite Churches and groups to come and share not only gospel-centered preaching but also gospel-centered worship and fellowship. The new sound and video technology allow us to have live worship bands leading us in praising and worshipping Jesus together. The new (cleanable) floor will enable us to share dessert or refreshments to spend time together and build relationships that can truly transform lives. If your Church or even your Small Group would like to learn more about how you can join us in sharing gospel-centered worship, preaching, and fellowship WITH us – please give Lee Burnham a call at 309-676-6416. Finally, thank you. Without your gracious gifts of support, this renovation wouldn’t have happened, and we couldn’t continue to invest in a more relational, life on life approach that is “creating pathways out of poverty through Jesus with our neighbors in need."

I am using JoomlaShine's Pagebuilder 4 for this and many other pages in K2. The use of Pagebuilder in Joomla articles produces correct content, but for the blogging section that I wanted to use K2 for, it keeps injecting the Pagefly section as a description for the page and I cannot figure out why.

Any suggestions (short of not using JoomlaShine's Pagebuilder products, LOL) would be helpful.

Increase limit for no. of K2 items in tag listings

Category: English K2 Community

Hello,

in options > Item count for tag listings, any value above 100 set there will still limit the no. of items to 100. Am using lazy load so it shouldn't be an issue for me loading a page with 200+ items.

Is there somewhere I can remove this limit ? I have played around with Tag.php but no luck.

The timezone conundrum

Aaaaah... shouldn't have used the code tag here above. Can't even delete that post. Sorry.
Here we go again:

Found the cause.

For example, for item creation/edition, in /administrator/components/com_k2/models/item.php this is the current code around lines 118-128:

        $config = JFactory::getConfig();
        $tzoffset = K2_JVERSION == '30' ? $config->get('offset') : $config->getValue('config.offset');
        $date = JFactory::getDate($row->created, $tzoffset);
        $row->created = K2_JVERSION == '15' ? $date->toMySQL() : $date->toSql();

        if (strlen(trim($row->publish_up)) <= 10) {
            $row->publish_up .= ' 00:00:00';
        }

        $date = JFactory::getDate($row->publish_up, $tzoffset);
        $row->publish_up = (K2_JVERSION == '15') ? $date->toMySQL() : $date->toSql();

Means that here currently both "created" and "publish_up" dates are offset always and only by the J! global system timezone, no matter what, and stored accordingly.
Instead they should be offset by the user's timezone, and only if it's a guest or if the user's timezone is default, then by the global system timezone.

Dear developers, please fix this here and in all other occurrences where you are using a similar wrong offset, like seemingly also comments and other areas. Sure: the sooner, the better.

Thanks!

If anyone is looking for a way to do this, I found the below code works:

$app    = JFactory::getApplication();
$jinput = $app->input;
$option = $jinput->getCmd('option');
$view   = $jinput->getCmd('view');

if ($option =="com_k2" && $view=="item")  {
    JTable::addIncludePath(JPATH_ADMINISTRATOR . '/components/com_k2/tables');
    $item = JTable::getInstance('K2Item', 'Table', array());
    $item->load($item_id);

    $tags = K2ModelItem::getItemTags($item_id);
    foreach ($tags as $tag) {
       echo $tag->name;
    }
}

Load K2 Tag Title for menu item

Category: English K2 Community

Hello,

I have a menu item for a tag. I understand that in this case, tag.php will load 'Browser Page Title' and if not present  'Menu Title' as set for that menu item as the Title (before the item listings). In case there are no menu item for that Tag, then the Tag name will be loaded (assuming it's set in K2 Options)

I'm looking for a little tweak to load 'Tag Name' even though 'Browser Page Title' and 'Menu Title' are set.
