I found migrating from joomla3 to joomla 4 that the URL to an article containing a video works only if that URL links directly to a Menu -> Article. In case the URL has a link to a Menu- Categorylist - Article I get a page not found.

Editing the article of a category-list in the preview mode the video works properly.

Any idea what is missing?

This is a nightmare for a simple user : I don't know if I have to upgrade or not to J4 + Which version should I use for my new sites ? The problem is coming from Joomla organisation, not K2 or Joomlaworks!
The proof is in the pudding; a lot of CCK has NOT migrated to J4 yet : Seblod (Release Preview) - Fabrikar - K2 - Chronoform... and so on. Some exception of course, but not enough...

Hi, I'm trying to track down some 404 errors that I'm seeing on my site.  I'm getting these errors for jpg files with the same filename (not including the extension) as MP3 files that are embedded on my article using AllVideos code.  I'm wondering whether AllVideos is someone creating a call in the visitor's browser to view a preview but it's not actually generating one because the file is audio rather than video. That's just a guess, but thought I'd ask here.

This looks like a server issue. Most likely some sort of rate limiting is imposed on all visitors, thus why you cannot playback the videos.

I use Joomla! 3.9.4 Stable and PHP 5.6.40.

Following SIG installation instructions, I have loaded gallery into Article, and I can see thumbnails, but when I click on any, instead full image preview, I see only blank space? Why is that? Please see image in attachment.

I think this is the easiest and most versatile solution.
So if I enter "thumbs" there all foldere with this name will not be listed in the gallery overview.

Another thing. I like the possibility to enter titles and descriptions in the gallery to be shown on the preview /slideshow images.
At the moment I basically use the same label for title and description.

Would it make sense to add a config switch to enter only a title and use this as description as well if the description field is empty?

K2 never supported this feature by default (allow introtext to be public then require a login to see the actual item). But it's easily done in K2 template overrides. Since v2.7.1 is really old, it's most likely that you had modified (you or someone else) core files of K2 in the past, adding that functionality (which again is dead simple to add in a K2 sub-template).

First of all, consult this guide getk2.org/documentation/tutorials/templating-with-k2-and-the-concepts-of-sub-templates to make a copy of K2's template overrides inside your template's /html folder.

Once you copy the files in /templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/html/com_k2/ you should have a "default" folder in there. Duplicate that folder to the name "restricted". Then open up the file /templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/html/com_k2/restricted/item.php and replace its contents with this:


It should be easy to figure out what to change to make your login message look more integrated to your site.

Now the last thing you need to do is assign the "restricted" template to the category (or categories) you wish to apply this "login to see" restriction.

All my items used TinyMCE was editing content, now there is a problem now since I am using JCE as Editor.

I have some extract fields in K2 item such date of field and other by using TinyMCE. 

Now I am using JCE for Editor my k2 items.

Whenever I just click edit it the date of field changed automatic. 

For exmaple.
My Items date of fields with with TinyMCE is Monday, 13 September 2004

Now my Editor is JCE when I clicked edit it, it change Thursday, 1 January 2004

a) I didn't see if you specified allowed categories in the K2 User Group settings (I assume the one named WRITING).
Yes, I allowed categories in K2 under User Group WRITING (In this Group, I enable everything even though Allow Edit any Item.). And any new user sign up will assign to this WRITING group. With User Group Call WRITING, I enable everything and I selected all my categories under it also. I tried to sign a new user with K2 but I still can't ADD New Item.

b) Unless the frontend editing form is broken for some reason (old override in place or JS/CSS injected by your template or other plugins in the form), when you click to "add a new item", you expect to see the form to add an item. Not a list of your items. These are visible in the user's profile page (blog).
I changed the name template but it doesn't help me at all. I test with Preview protostar - Default.

c) Ensure that when a user signs up is indeed assigned to this WRITING K2 User Group.
I signed up new user with K2 and it is really assign to this WRITING K2 User Group but I still can't post NEW ITEM.

You can do the same operation for others image upload forms of k2 as categorie image and avatar...

Not really, sorry. Falang stores the translations in its own database tables, it doesn't map an item assigned e.g. to English with another that is its translation for German for example.
