mp3 player stopped working was created by PaulB
Hi,
I know this has been raised as an issue before and I have tried the solutions I've found on here but to no avail. e.g. changing file names to be all lower case and no underscores etc.
Allvideos: 3.3_j1.5
Joomla 1.5.23
web site www.natclare.co.uk
I installed Allvideos onto this site 3/4 weeks ago and both audio and video worked well. However, yesterday, for no apparent reason, there is no audio player showing on the 'Songs' page though the mp3 can still be downloaded. BTW Videos is working fine.
I say "no apparent reason" because I haven't been doing any work on that site.
Having said that, the site is actually a subdomain and I created another subdomain a few days ago and loaded Allvideos into that yesterday and I wonder if that is causing some kind of conflict though I'm not sure how. The other site is called www.gordonzola.me.uk and, again there is no audio player showing though the video element is working fine and mp3s can be downloaded. The audio files are in the 'CD' folder.
Is there a size limit to the mp3s that can be played - I haven't seen anything in the documentation - but some of these mp3s are fairly large i.e. more than 5mb.
Any help you can give would be much appreciated.

Thanks for your reply but I'm not sure which settings you are referring to, could you explain more fully please and make suggestions as to what should be changed?
I've deleted all the audio files and re-uploaded one, then uninstalled and reinstalled allvideos - let all the settings default.
But still the problem with audio remains - it is allowing download but there is no player showing.
Actually since I last posted I've tried a couple of other plug-ins and again the download is working but the player isn't showing.
Tearing my hair out. :(

Hey come on I only reported what happened and as it happened it look as as though I spoke too soon as the problem has reoccurred. Looks like there is a problem with this plug-in for audio files (though oddly not youtube clips) working with subdomains :(
I've hard coded a music player into the page as an interim solution but one of the reasons for using Joomla and Allvidoes was to allow people to update their own pages easily.
If you want to use code to play mp3s in a page let me know and I'll send you the code and instructions - sorry that's the best I can do at the moment.
