Preview MP4 was created by jk15060
I just started using AllVideos plugin (ver 4) for playing videos on my client's website. However, they want a preview to appear instead of the blank screen. Been researching this and found someone who asked the same question a few years back, but never got an answer. Also found someone else who said that MP4s are played using QuickTime and that a preview wasn't configurable.
Does this still hold true? Or is there a way to display either the first frame of the MP4 or an associated image file? If it's possible, what's the syntax we should use?
I have tried {mp4}MP4FILENAME&image=IMAGE.JPG{/mp4}, but it doesn't work.
Thank you for any help that might be out there in the wild today!

Did you read AllVideos documentation?

Yes, I have read the documentation. That doesn't necessarily mean I understand it completely though. Would this be the way I can display a JPG that lives in the same directory as the MP4 on the website's server - not on YouTube or some other remote server?
Easy, descriptive syntax for media embedding. Use: {format/provider}filename{/format/provider}
You can also use syntax like: {format/provider}filename|width|height|autoplay{/format/provider}
For example, an "autoplaying" YouTube video of 600x450 dimensions would be displayed adding this to a content item: {youtube}he73js822|600|450|1{/youtube}
The autoplay parameter works great, but there are 5 video tutorials on one page and configuring them to autoplay won't work. I took screenshots of the first frame of each video in hopes to display the static image until someone clicks on the video to play it.
Is that possible?

Just put a jpg in the same folder as your video file with the same name as your video. Make your image the same dimensions as your video file.

Joomlaworks needs better documentation.
