Hey Knowledgeable People,  ;D

I'm having a lot of trouble using the AllVideos plugin on my site.  It seems I've got more than one issue, so I'll try to lay them out as best I can here.  As a side note, I'm using Joomla 1.5.24 and a RocketTheme template.

Site URL:  www.graceministriesinternational.org/devotionals
AllVideos version:  4.1

-- Videos seem to have to fully preload before they can play (this used to not happen at all)
-- Videos do not work on the iPhone
-- Videos do not work on the iPad
-- Seems to work OK in Safari, but not always in Firefox

I have wondered if it is a video encoding issue, as I understand there are many, many types of encoders and formats.  But all of these videos are straight MP4 videos (MainConcept H.264) coming from Adobe After Effects, no other conversion tools or extra steps used.

Can anyone help point me in the right direction?

Thanks,
Matt

If your video is not being streamed from a windows or flash server, is it considered a progressive download.  This is like youtube.  The file loads so that there is no buffering and the video can play smooth.

The iPhone and iPad issue is that Apple does not support flash/flash player.  A nice easy fix is to download an app that can play flash on does devices.  The app i recommend is the "Puffin Browser" the cost is $.99 cents.

I'm using firefox and it played just fine in my browser.

Hi fdesign,

Yes, but YouTube does not fully load the movie before playing -- it buffers ahead only a certain amount, then you can play it.  What's happening here is that the whole video is being buffered first.  That's a problem.

I know this should work right without any additional app having to be purchased, etc.  That's where I'm stuck.

Cheers,
Matt
