Problem in IE9 was created by brergo
I'm getting the following error when trying to play a video using AllVideos 4.1 in Internet Explorer 9 only:

"The video could not be loaded, either because the server or network failed or because the format is not supported."

It is an mp4 and it is working fine in IE 8, Firefox and Chrome. Any suggestions?

I have the same problem. Works great in FF, Chrome, IE 6, 7 and 8 but not in IE9. It pulls in the preview image so it shouldn't be a 'path' problem. The message:

The video could not be loaded, either because the server or network failed or because the format is not supported: www.xxx.co.uk/images/stories/videos/OH Assessments Part 1.mp4undefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefinedundefined

Same problem here. Works fine in Safari and FF on a Mac. Has anyone come up with a solution?

Updated: Works fine in FF on a PC running Vista as well. Just IE is the problem (huge surprise there).

Ha! I win!! use .htaccess to set new mime types that IE will pick up:

AddType video/m4v m4v
AddType video/mp4 mp4

Now it will recognize and play the mp4s we have. Sweet.

Hello,

It doensn't work by me when I set the AddType in the .htaccess? I have a mp4 video on the site which is working in all browsers even in IE7 and 8. But not in IE9. I thought IE9 become more standard  :-\

I tried this under the last rule  ########## End - Joomla! core SEF Section

AddType video/m4v m4v
AddType video/mp4 mp4

Also tried it with a . (dot) for m4v and mp4.

Is that the right way? Or is there another place in the .htaccess?
