why does plugin Allvideos requires access to longtailvideos was created by King Louis

Dear all

I have just installed the allvideos plugin in joomla 2.5. Now I get the message (from noscript) that it will connect to www. longtailvideaos.com. If I refuse it won't work.
Why is this connection needed?
It is funny but running it offline in xamp it works, so is this access really needed?
And if not, can it be deactivated?

AllVideos doesn't require any access. Check the video provider you use please.

Dear Katja

Thanks for your reply.
I'ts a self made video, converted to flv from a mov recorded with an iphone.
But something (a script) must be required from www.longtailvideo.com because if I block, the play remains black (no picture, no control buttons,etc).
By the way: a former version I used under joomla 1.5 doesn't show this effect.

(and my video works perfectly too, but only when explicitely allowed scripts from www. longtailvideo.com)

Have you found a solution? I have switched to JPlayer for the time being... which is by far not as comfortable as allvideos :(

@ Katia:
You can find the Firefox-Plugin we are talking about here:
addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/noscript/
