I assume this is a browser issue, but I have no idea how to fix it.

Have a 'daily' audio page. mp3s are name monday.mp3, tuesday.mp3  etc etc

Every week I just upload and overwrite previous file.

player still plays the old one. Reloading page doesn't fix it.

Please help me in the right direction here. At wits end

Did you clean your cache?

yes, that it why its frustrating. I assume its a browser problem. But clearing the cache does not affect the issue. So I am stumped. and I have tried it in multiple browsers with the same result.
