Some Soundclouds not showing? was created by Frankster69
Hello all,
I'm a webdesigner/webmaster from Holland. I've been on the web since about '94, and my first sites were around '96, which I handcoded. I'm currently using Joomla and am very well self-educated in html, some php and designing. I'm producing and maintaining sites for a number of people and companies, most of them dance-industry related.
I'm having a problem that I can't really understand and it involves the Allvideos plugin, although I'm not sure it is their fault.
In a website I'm managing for a dj, I'm using Allvideos to display his Soundcloud uploads on his website. All seemd to go well untill he called me yesterday saying he couldn't get his latest mix online. I went to have a look, and seemingly discovered his error right away: between the {soundcloud} tags was not only the URL but it was also linked with <a> tags. So I thought it was an easy solution, just remove the <a>-link tags and it woudl work. But alas it didn't.
I tried in different ways ( in a <p> or just sparated by <br>), but it didn't show. Then I counted the links, and it turned out in the backend of Joomla (2.5.8) I had 17 Soundcloud's, but on the frontend only 12 were visible. So apart from the latest mix, 4 more mixes were missing although they were present in the page's code. I checked the source of the rendered page, and there also the missing players were present. By all intents, they should show.
Then I tried to see if reducing the number of players helped, but again, the same missing players were still missing. I also tried to put the latest mix in a module on the homepage, replacing the previous mix that was allready there. On the homepage there is only 1 mix, so it cannot be 'too much'. But again, the mix didn't show. I tried some other mixes, and the same ones that were visible on the music page were visible if I put them in the module, and those that were not visible on the music-page were also not visible in the homepage-module.
The last thing I tried was to see if it made any difference if I used https instead of http, but it didn't.
By the way, I cleared my cache several times, and used both Firefox and Chrome to see and check: the same results.
So now I'm stumped. There is nothing wrong with the mixes that don't show. The URL's simply work, I tried them all in my browsers. They just don't show in his website.
You can see what I mean for yourself if you go to the site listed below. Go to the 'Music' page. The visible top player there is now a 'Happy Newyear' mix. But if you check the source of the page, you will find that in the html, the top player is a mix called 'dj-da-dominator-afterparty-mix'. This mix is present in the page, but not visible in any way.
Is this Allvideos related? Is this something with Soundcloud? Does anybody here know a solution, or where I should focus on? Any similar experiences? Any help is greatly appreciated.
