I have uploaded a wmv file to my amazons3 account and made it public  and then created an article and module with the following url
{myremotewmv}s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/alexwalker/wildlife.wmv{/myremotewmv}
but it does not want to work.
I am using Joomla 2.5.11

I don't know why I put myremotewmv when the actual url I used was indeed {wmvremote}s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/alexwalker/wildlife.wmv{/wmvremote}

The link you provided above to see an example brings up a 404 error page ?

The link is not valid.
I just put it in order to see the structure of the tags.
