Add a jpg preview image to the video was created by Nico van de Kamp
Hello,

I have in the past - J1.5 - used embedvideo.
It was possible to add a picture -preview image- to it, with a parameter, so that if page is opened by the visitor he doesn't see a black box with a arrow but for instance the first frame of the video.
I've looking in the source.php and I see a '{PLAYER_POSTER_FRAME}' right before the with and height. But if I add there the jpg file then the jwplayer starts imediatly to play, so it seems that allvideos think that the parameter autostart is set.

I can't find anything about preview image in the documentation, or am I wrong?

Hi. If you are using AllVideos then all you have to do is put a JPG image in the same directory as the video. Just give the image file the same name as the video. For example, if your video is named "test.mp4" then place a file "test.jpg" in the same directory.

Ok, thanks,

I wasn't aware of it that it works in such a way. But I think it isn't written in documentation or am I wrong?

Are there more 'hidden' features?

Nico

You are right, we need to add it to the documentation page.

Ok thanks, it is not problem. You have also more to do than writing documentation I think. And as developers we don't like writing documentation, at least I don't liked.
But if it was in documentation than I have a bad feeling, because I'm wasting you're time.

It's fine, providing support is also part of our work, it's not wasted time.

Hello. I have a question on this issue. K2 video uploads are stored in the "media/k2/videos" folder and the file names are changed in this process. Is there an easy way to add a preview cover image from the admin panel? If not, how can I change the default storage location to "images/videos"?

Suggestion: K2 should consider adding a "Thumbnail" upload field for video preview images.

@Dexter Bayack

The default location for K2 videos cannot be changed. However you can still put manually an image there and AllVideos should detect it.
